Scarlet immortal, who was the only Ranger among the Overlords didn't experience a transformation to her race or bloodline, rather she acquired an innate talent that no Ranger will refuse. She got the
Shenrou, like the others, also evolved her bloodline to the standard of blessed individuals but the particular transformation in her was the legacy she inherited. While she was exploring in one of the ruins in the Realm of spirituality, she actually stumbled upon the legacy of the Star deity who was known to be a Demigod existence that wielded the power of stars and gravity. The Star deity never reached tier 6, but possessed the legacy of a powerful Ancient God which elevated her powers to the extremes of tier 5. With the legacy skills she inherited from the Star deity, Shenrou wasn't actually any weaker than the other Celestial overlords.
For Qingyuan, her transformation was also a major one. She was previously an Elementialist that focused on flame type spells but she had a fateful encounter that allowed her to acquire the hidden class, Lightning Mage!
She now wielded the power of thunder and lightning and was able to launch fast and explosive attacks. With a hammer equipped, she was like the Goddess of thunder.
Xingyao is a Swordmaster, like Astral sword. But unlike the latter who focused mainly on training in the purest form of the sword, she incorporated the various elements in the powers. During one of her trainings, she suddenly had a big comprehension and managed to create a Mana technique
With this technique, she managed to raise her Mana control to the half step tier 5 standard rivaling Pure spring!
Yueying is considered the weakest among the Celestial overlords due to being an Oracle, a healing class. Oracles had low attack power but powerful healing spells. But Yueying was a Divine Oracle, which was the ultimate hidden class of the Oracles and possessed powerful healing spells that made her nearly invincible on the battlefield. Unless there's a tremendous difference in tiers, no one can kill her on the battlefield. Even Snow titan with her monstrous attack power had to admit that.
Furthermore, while she had weak attack power and defense, she accidentally cultivated an abstruse technique that made her skills difficult to destroy. This made her a frightening existence on par with her colleagues.
The Celestial overlords had in one way or the other experienced a qualitative transformation to their powers which made them powerful existences among the players.
"You guys have gone through a lot recently, but there's a mission we need to complete" Xuanyuan said.
"If it's about the war of Jade spear holy city, we don't plan to intervene" Dark angel said nonchalantly.
"Is that so? Whoever made the highest contribution might win a compatible inferior legendary weapon!" He announced mysteriously.
"Sir! Dark angel has rejected the mission so I'll do it. What do I have to do?" Pure spring stood up and said.
"Hey! You little girl who said I rejected the mission?" Dark angel bellowed shamelessly. "I was just saying that I'm enough to complete the mission, you mighty overlords don't need to bother yourself over a trivial matter"
"We'll join in the fun, what do we have to do?" Shadow empress asked.
"Follow me guys" Xuanyuan chuckled and led them out of the training room...
Meanwhile, as the various independent players and small adventurer teams flocked to the City lord's manor to get themselves recruited for the upcoming city war. Xuanyuan and the Celestial overlords made their way quietly to a small meeting room where there were a small group of players waiting quietly.
Although the Quests has been made available, it was necessary to meet the executives of the large guilds to make a suitable battle plan.
In Jade spear Holy city, the three strongest guilds are the Mysterious domain, Sky dragons, Heaven's will. They are all first rate guilds. There might be stronger superpowers operating behind the scenes but the four powers had established themselves in the city before its legendary transformation so it was rather difficult to seize control from them.
"Sword mage!!" the Guild leader of Heaven's will Guild, Heaven's sovereign shouted as soon as Xuanyuan entered the meeting room with Shadow empress, Divine shieldbearer and Shen Rou. The others felt it's a boring meeting so they'd rather explore the city instead.
"Long time no see" Xuanyuan chuckled.
"What the hell are you doing here?" Heaven's sovereign shouted frustratingly. He'd been so relieved when they suddenly lost traces of Xuanyuan in the city that they thought he'd migrated to another Empire. He barely managed to bring the Heaven's will Guild back on track after incurring severe losses and just when he thought everything would be smooth sailing now, he encountered Xuanyuan again...
"We respect your strength, Sword mage, but this is a meeting organized by the city lord to discuss with the large guilds in the city" the Guild leader of Mysterious domain said. "I believe you aren't invited" he added.
"How could I be invited when I'm precisely the one who invited everyone" Xuanyuan said lightly as he flaunted his City lord's status.
Everyone present was either a Guild leader or Commander of the top forces in the city and they possessed powerful identification skills so they were quickly able to see Xuanyuan's status as the acting city lord of the holy city.
"How's that possible" Everyone heard themselves mutter in horror.
They've all been trying all means possible to acquire management rights of towns in-game and there haven't been any success so far yet this stinky guy here already became the city lord of a Holy city! Their brains nearly exploded out of endless fantasies.
They all quickly settled down as Xuanyuan ordered the start of the meeting.
Although Jade spear city is being besieged by three big cities, it's a holy city and therefore had inhabitants that's only slightly inferior to the combination of the three cities. Since they're on defense, the pressure wasn't too high and considering the various defensive measures put in place, the city had a high chance of being successful in defending itself.
The battle plan was quickly decided and everyone knew what he or she had to do once the battle began.
"City lord Sword Mage, we are players of Jade spear Holy city but don't you think the rewards you're offering us are too low?" the leader of Sky dragon guild, Arcane dragon suddenly stood up and said.
"Oh! what's your idea then, Guild leader Arcane dragon?" Xuanyuan asked directly.
"My Sky dragon guild will participate in the battle, but we request for management rights of the City's southern region" said Arcane dragon.
"Guild leader Arcane is right. You can't handle a Holy City's management on your own, so we'll help shoulder the burden" Guild leader of Fiery crows which is also a large guild in the holy city said righteously. "We only request for management rights of the eastern part of the city" he added.
The other guild leaders also quickly announced their requests one after the other and a commotion even broke out as the various Guild leaders argued on who will take control of a certain part of the city. It's as if it's already decided that Xuanyuan will give up the city.
Xuanyuan sat quietly on the main seat casually twirling the pen in his hand leisurely as he watched the Guild leaders in an amused expression. Of course, his face was covered in a hood so no one could see his smiling face. He waited for the commotion to die down before speaking up.
"Since everyone wants management rights over the holy city, why don't we decide through a competition after the battle is over?" Xuanyuan suggested. "We'll note down the names of competing guilds in advance to assure honesty" he added.
"That's a good idea" Heaven's sovereign agreed trying to show that his Heaven's will Guild doesn't wish to go against Xuanyuan anymore.
"I guess you've already been frightened so much by the Sword mage, Sovereign dog" Arcane dragon said. Heaven's will and Sky dragon are publicly known to be rivals and they never miss the chance to taunt one another. Sky dragon especially gave Heaven's will a hard time while they were beaten down by Xuanyuan.
"Oh! You think your Sky dragon guild can fare better against him?" Heaven's sovereign sneered.
Arcane dragon smiled lightly without replying.
"City lord Sword mage, I think you should award the city's management rights to the deserving powers immediately. We, Guild leaders have a lot on our plates and don't have time for small completions with small guilds" Arcane dragon said.
