The next morning, Victoria woke up. Hailey was already there sitting in a chair. When she sensed some movements, she quickly called the doctor and asked Victoria if she was feeling alright. Victoria put her hands on her head as it aches. The noises from doctors and nurses didn't help her at all.
The doctor told them that she was alright and could be discharged. He also gave her some medicines in case something happened. Hailey told Victoria that she would go and do the discharge procedure. While she is at it, she will also buy the medicines the doctor has prescribed.
After Hailey left, the private ward was silent. After her headache stabilized, she thought about what happened. She went to the court and had the session. After that, she went back to her car and started driving.
However, she suddenly felt her strength draining and swiftly parked her car at the roadside. Then she called Hailey and Jan who didn't pick up. Before she could think of calling anyone else, she lost consciousness. But now she is laying in the hospital and Hailey was here. Maybe Hailey picked up at the last moment.
Victoria looked at the bedside table. There were her phone and car keys. She picked up her phone. After opening it, she just strolled at it casually. As she was looking at the news, etc, Hailey comes back with a confused face. She thought about it but in the end, she decided to tell Victoria.
" Sister Victoria, did you pay the bill yourself?" She knew it was not possible as Victoria was unconscious but who could it be then?
" What?" Victoria didn't understand what she meant.
" When I went to pay the bill, they said it's already paid. The bill was a lot since this is a private ward. Moreover, who dropped you at the hospital? I heard that you were unconscious and were brought to the hospital. I thought you come here yourself and messaged me. But you didn't if you were unconscious. Then how did I get a message from you telling me to come to this hospital to pick you up? What happened?!"
" What do you mean?" Victoria's face went cold. Something was wrong here.
" You didn't take me to the hospital? I was dropped by someone. The bill was paid and I messaged you to come here even though I was unconscious. Moreover, my phone and car keys are beside me unscathed... " Victoria had a cold voice as she recalled everything. Suddenly, a cold glint passed through her eyes.
" Hailey! Quickly go and ask the hospital director to come here. Tell him that it's Victoria Helson, the Lawyer."
The director held a great position in the country as he was the director of the capital's first hospital. However, Victoria held enough power to stand on the same ground as him. Therefore, when the director heard that she wants to meet him, he agreed.
As he was elder, he wouldn't demean himself by coming to greet a younger person but he knew she was a patient. He also understood that she wouldn't call him unless there was something important. After all, she was well known in the capital.
The director fixed his glasses and knocked on the door. Victoria replied," Come in."
The director walked in. There was a chair in front of the bed. Victoria sat up straight and told him.
" Good morning, Director. Please sit down."
" Good morning. How are you?"
" I am great. I'd like your cooperation with something."
" Well, I thought so. As long as I can, I will help you."
" I need to see the surveillance of yesterday."
" Okay. But you need to inform me why so that I can be prepared." The director thought that some crime took place in his hospital so that's why he wanted to be informed. As a lawyer, Victoria could investigate things.
" Don't worry, director. I just want to confirm something. That's all."
" Okay then. Please follow me."
" Alright. I will remember your favour."
The nurse just took out her insulin so she got up and wore sleepers as she walked after the director. Hailey was also by her side.
Finally, they reached the surveillance room. There were guards sitting there. When they saw the director, they all got up and greeted him respectfully. The director nodded at them and said.
" Pull out the surveillance of tomorrow." Then he turned to Victoria and asked.
" What time?"
" Start from the evening."
After some time, it finally showed the time. Victoria carefully stared at the screen showing the entrance of the hospital. After a few seconds, her car come into view. It sped fastly and stopped at the front parking. After that, a man stepped out and rushed towards the passenger seat. He picked up someone and went into the hospital. Victoria's eyes flickered with a cold glint.
Then they saw the surveillance inside the hospital. Oscar walked fastly and handed her to the doctor. They quickly gave her emergency treatment. Afterwards, he walked to the counter and paid. Then they shifted Victoria to the private ward. After a long time, he went back, parked the car in the underground parking and come back. Then he took her phone and did something with it. After some time, he put it down on the bedside table with the car keys.
He went towards the gate. It looked like he was planning to leave. However, he glanced back for a minute and then walked back. He lightly kissed her on the forehead and left.
The hospital director looked in shock as he was stunned by what he saw. Hailey's eyes also widened as she stuttered. " He-he... Isn't it him?!"
The director and Hailey both stared at her in shock. The director felt cold sweat on his back. If-if he wasn't mistaken, that man was the Chairman of the Laszlo Corporation. He was scared of Victoria now that he know that she had connections with him. Hailey was stunned and couldn't think properly. She stared at Victoria and feared what would be her reaction.
Victoria's eyes were glued to the screen. Her eyes were dark. Her face was cold. His words come into her mind.
" I will start appearing near you but you would never be able to see me unless I want to."
After a long time, she suddenly started laughing. The director and Hailey got scared. Finally, she calmed down. Her lips formed a straight line as she said.
" You've started it!" No one knew what it meant other than Victoria. Then she left with a poker face.
