The battlescape had seen quite a few changes...
Instead of one singular, chaotic clash, the battlefield had been split into smaller pockets. The exchanges between the fighters were observed within these pockets.
Compared to that, it was the job of the marksmen and mages to provide rear support with projectiles, shields, buffs, and even control spells that could shift the favor of the smaller, individual battles.
However, the shift in the nature of the battle was sure to favor those with superior numbers.
No matter how powerful an individual was, when facing a combined might, it was only a matter of time before they fell.
Of course, the outcome was not set in stone. But for the overwhelming majority, that was the truth— plain and simple.
As the battle stretched on, more and more humans died. However, the death rate was quite low. This only went to show how hardy and experienced each combatant was.
However, there was a level of individuality about the battle.
