"Are you alright?"
Aisha had her attention focused on the road since they left Nessy's mansion. Her eyes remained fixed on the sight of the night road—the street lights, other cars, and pedestrians—with her hands on her jaw. She found it interesting all of a sudden, at least more than focusing her attention on what happened earlier. She did not want to think about it even though she was in deep need of answers from Nessy and at least an apology from her. She simply nodded at Adly's question when she felt him crease her arm, but she knew he wouldn't buy that answer, so she decided to speak.
"I am fine," she said softly with her sweet voice, but her gaze didn't meet his.
"It is alright to feel bad, Aisha," he began again with his hands withdrawn from her this time. "What Nessy did is totally unexplainable. But I am sure she will get back to her senses soon and beg for your forgiveness."
She only nodded, not knowing the right answer to give to his uplifting words.
