"We can look around and search for her before the one who stays here arrives from wherever the hell he went to," Nut said, hoping Geb would heed her words.
'Seriously, Nut!' Geb thought with disgust. She was really not going to let him know who the 'he' was. She was hellbent on keeping the secret. But that was the least of his concern now. He needed to find his Nessy—and then figure out how to get her out of here…
Just as he was about to move, he felt the presence of something—or someone—dark. 'Aposis!' He glanced at Nut and saw that she sensed it too.
"Find that mortal and deal with her. Go on, I'll buy you some time!" she said, desperation evident in her voice. She didn't want Geb to see Aposis nearing the hallway. Geb merely nodded and disappeared.
Immediately after he left, Aposis walked in.
"Nut?!" he called.
"Yes, Aposis, it is I," she answered nervously.
"You are here. Where is Geb?" he asked, leaning on the wall.
