Chapter 50 - Chap 31-5

Leo didn't go all out, knowing she was also holding back. After a couple of punches, Yoruishi frowned. On the last exchange, instead of stepping out and dodging Leo's punch, she tanked it with her cheek. With a smirk, she said, "That tickled."

Taking advantage of Leo's surprise, she landed a clean hit on his chest, sending him flying. Snorting, she looked at the rising dust where he landed. "I said, show me what you've got."

"That was a bad move, Yoruishi," Onohana said, stepping to the side. Putting down her cup, she formed a few hand signs and created a shielding barrier around herself and Rose, confusing Yoruishi.

"What do you mean?" Yoruishi asked, not understanding what Onohana was talking about—until she followed her pointing hand toward where Leo had crashed.

"You'd better stop playing. You just switched him on."

And as if triggered by those words, the dust exploded outward, and Leo appeared right in front of Yoruishi, fist already aimed at her face. Despite her quickness, she dodged in time—only to sense something shift direction. A punch appeared directly in front of her.

Yoruishi barely had time to cover her arms with Haki before taking the hit. The impact sent her flying several meters, her arms numb, and probably with a few cracked bones.

With shaky hands, she lifted her gaze to see Leo giving her a feral smirk. His expression—contrary to his usual easygoing, even lazy demeanor—was sharp with excitement.

"Still tickles? I can crank it up a little more," Leo taunted, causing Yoruishi to freeze for a second… before a vein tick appeared on her forehead.

"Kono gaki!!!"

Her reiryoku exploded, burning her jacket as lightning flared from her shoulders and back like living extensions.

"You two couldn't be more similar," Onohana sighed and sipped her tea as if nothing had happened. Rose, however, froze, not understanding how the fight had gone from playful sparring to genuine intent to overpower each other.

"Shouldn't we stop them?" Rose asked nervously.

Onohana shook her head.

"I'll step in if it becomes dangerous. It's a good way for their types to understand each other."

"Type?" Rose echoed—then realized exactly what she meant.

She knew Leo well enough to recognize that behind his easygoing, lazy personality was a hidden, far more dangerous mentality—what he frankly called his hunting mode. Yoruishi's last taunt probably switched him on, and now the same thing had happened to her.

"You'd better use your Zanpakuto. I don't want you running to your mommy saying I bullied you," Yoruishi taunted back.

"Nah, I'm good." Leo signaled her over. "Let's play, kitty."

"Well, your choice." She appeared in front of him instantly, palm rushing straight toward his face.

To her surprise, Leo didn't dodge. Instead, he redirected her strike with the back of his hand to the side.

The next second, she was flipped, almost slammed into the ground.

Reacting at the last moment, she released a burst of reiryoku from her back, propelling herself into the sky. After a couple of flips, she stood in the air, frowning down at Leo.

Leo shook his hand as flames ignited over it, healing the damage he had taken by redirecting a hit like that.

"What? Not feeling like getting tickled anymore?" Leo looked up at her, smirking.

With a raised eyebrow, she sighed and took a sprinter's stance. "Point taken. Now it's time to punch you a little."

With a low growl, the lightning on her back brightened, forming three drums. Along with them, Yoruishi gained a pair of lightning tails and ears. At the same time, her eyes dimmed, and her arms and legs were wrapped in lightning atop her Armament Haki.

"Bad move," Leo said, disappointed. He knew this trick of hers—but sadly for her, it wouldn't work on him. After all, he was far more experienced in beast-style fighting than anything else.

Focusing entirely on Yoruishi, he prepared to defend the moment she vanished from sight.

But the danger he always sensed… never came.

Instead, the next second, he was tackled to the ground, his body flooded with electricity.

Looking down at what happened, Leo found Yoruishi curled up in his lap, head resting on his chest, softly purring.

It would've been a wholesome sight if not for the high voltage Leo was tanking at that very moment.

Even Onohana was surprised—Yoruishi, in this state, usually focused on beating her opponent until she ran out of juice.

But now she had completely abandoned the fight just to cuddle and hug Leo. This was probably the only time she had ever seen her like this.

"Ara~," Onohana hid her smile behind her hand. With a quick motion, she drew her phone and snapped a picture of the cute yet agonizing situation Leo was trapped in.

--------------- later----------

After what felt to Leo like a collective middle finger from all the boys—getting electro-tortured by cuddling a hothead was a new experience even for him—he now found himself sitting with the three ladies in the living room. Yoruichi still wore that winner's smirk; the moment Leo asked for Unohana's help, it was the same as tapping out.

With that high voltage and the death grip she had on him, Leo couldn't free himself, let alone counterattack. A "cuddling cat," my ass.

What was worse was that her lightning slipped right past his haki and natural elemental defenses. And the funny part? None of it actually hurt him physically—just agonizing pain purely for the love of the game.

And that was the same reason Leo suspected she might have done it deliberately.

"So, are we good?" Leo sighed and looked at her. "I hope you let out enough steam, because there's no way I'm doing that again."

Yoruichi was about to comment on the end of the battle, only to burst into laughter at his current condition. His skin was a shade darker than usual, and his usually neat hair stood straight up. He looked like a comic drawing of someone who had just been electrocuted.

"Well, we're good for now," Yoruichi said, "but we're far from settled, you hear me?"

With a haughty voice, she crossed her arms and looked away after finally controlling her laughter.

"Well, if we're good," Leo smiled, standing up, "I have business to take care of, so you ladies enjoy yourselves."

He was about to leave the room when Rosalia asked if it had to do with last night's attack. He nodded—only to be forced into explaining.

"So you're hitting the branch today?" Yoruichi smirked. "I should've seen that coming."

Leaning back on the couch, she asked, "So what's the attack plan?"

Seeing that made Leo raise an eyebrow at how naturally she inserted herself into the operation.

Looking back at Rosalia and Unohana, they also had looks that clearly said they were joining in.

"You know I can't take you with me." With a sigh, he pinched Rose's nose, giving up on trying to change the other two's minds since it was impossible—and would eventually work in their favor anyway.

"Let alone everything else, just the fact that you just shifted puts you at risk." Seeing Rose about to argue, he added, "So instead, go spend some time with your family. I don't want them thinking I'm stealing you from them."

While you're at it, read the intro of my original story below and see if you find it interesting.

------------------------ "IT" --------------------------------

With the vast expanse of sea to the east and mountains piercing the clouds to the west, a vibrant green carpet stretched a hundred meters from the soft shoreline, looking like woven silk scattered with jewel-like flowers. The scenery formed an ancient yet untouched landscape—beautiful, paradoxical, and serene.

As if that were not enough, a few deer-like creatures moved gently through the soft grass, adding a fantastical and mystical touch to the view. But none of that was what truly mattered. What defined this place was the flow of its essence. calm and harmonious, yet risky and dangerous, yet fanisating. But… and a big "but" something crucial was missing.

For all its beauty, for all the mysteries and treasures hidden among the mountains waiting to be discovered… no one was there to do so.

In its creation, this land was deemed forbidden on the intelegent minds, a curse for the destruction they once caused. As punishment, its creatore. condemned them to be forever banned from it.

after countless years beneath the mystical eclipse and its dimensional curse, 'IT' realized that without a guiding mind, without one who could descend and choose, there would be no evolution, no progress.

only this beautiful stillness that would eventually suffocate itself from the inside out.

So 'IT' decided to end... the stillness, even the ones it loved, as all were part of herself.

Yet before acting, 'IT' looked down once more, hoping to find a sign. a change that would stop what had to be done.

As if that wish had been granted, the calm clouds shifted, lightning roared, and a bolt struck the center of the grassy plain, unexpectedly forming a crystalline platform.

'IT' was surprised.

Being one with the stillness, it controlled everything within. Yet someone had taken that control away. No, not taken. Rather, they had used the stillness as if it had always been theirs.

So it let it be and chose to observe—not out of fear, but from curiosity and interest, feelings long forgotten.

Then it saw it—a crystal tree growing from the center of the platform, slowly rising until it touched the clouds. Buds formed, blooming into unique fruits. but Only seven bore different colors and shades; the rest matched the crystal tree itself.

It sensed something familiar within them and soon understood that the fruits contained souls. Little by little, the seven fruits grew heavy. One by one, they fell—but instead of hitting the ground, each lit up and floated away in different directions.

'IT' watched each fruit enter a variety of creatures—birds, trees, insects, fish, and more. Every creature that absorbed a fruit fell asleep, then began to grow, a growth impossible for others of their kind.

Only one fruit remained.

The last did not fly away. It hovered beneath the tree, glowing softly a few meters above the ground. As time passed, the crystal tree released a faint misty aura that the fruit absorbed. Slowly, the tree lost its crystalline appearance and took on the form of an ancient giant, blending with the world around it.

To 'IT' surprise, the glowing fruit began reshaping—taking a form it never thought it would see again.

A Wise Man Descendant, as IT called them. But this one felt different.

Wild. Definitely a wise man, yet with an animalistic and wild aura, like the deep-forest beasts that hunted others.

When the phenomenon ended, the Wise Man Descendant lay beneath the tree.

Slowly, he opened his eyes and began speaking to the empty air—as if talking to something invisible even to it.

Curious, it observed him more closely. It saw him explore the stillness with patience and wonder.

It saw him befriend the stillness-born creatures.

It saw him hunt for food, yet never take more than he needed.

It saw him uncover mountain caverns and use their treasures to create things—yet never disturb places relied upon by the creatures.

It saw him protect his companions as though protecting himself.

Then it noticed something: this Wise Man Descendant had moved the stillness…

No, that was not right. He was the last missing piece of the stillness. The final gear through which 'IT' felt itself move again—yet not in the same stagnant direction.

At that moment, 'IT' felt a connection to the tree—a strange call, welcoming it. Accepting the call, it fell into a calm, soothing sleep—a feeling it had missed ever since becoming 'IT'.
