Seeing no one around, Chen Muxue followed the faint, elusive smell of fishiness, a scent she likely wouldn't have noticed if she weren't a cat.
Fortunately, the clinic is busy during the day and has no female relatives; this backyard is mostly deserted. Where has Small An gone? Perhaps he's still learning medicine from that gentleman.
As Chen Muxue passed a room, she sharply noticed many chaotic scratch marks in the corner of the door. Such scratches would probably consume the claws of several cats.
Out of curiosity, Chen Muxue peeked through the crack in the door. Inside the dim room, there were many cages of different sizes, some of which had fur caught in the bamboo slats, but one could not tell which animals they belonged to.
Could it be that the gentleman was secretly conducting a rescue operation for cats and dogs?
But it didn't seem to be the case. With so many cages, Chen Muxue didn't hear any sounds of animals moving around.
