Just like this movie, it's clearly just a supporting role, but the spotlight is even greater than the protagonist. If it weren't for Duanmu Huai playing the final boss ghost which overshadowed Ai's limelight, this movie might as well have turned into Xingye Ai's solo show, and it wouldn't be clear whether this is a horror movie.
Is this something a supporting role should do?

Director Wutantai chuckled, leaning against the wall.
"Indeed, if this was a top-tier director, they wouldn't tolerate such a situation, as the director's goal is to shoot the story they envision. If a character doesn't know how to hold their position and just purely shows their presence, they'll soon be phased out. But those are top-tier directors... I'm still far from it, and besides..."
As he spoke, Director Wutantai glanced at Duanmu Huai.
