Not far away lay a stretch of ruins, while the area nearby was overgrown with wild grass.
The world was eerily silent. Though it was the same place as before, without the songs and dances of the pet beasts, an indescribable sense of dread filled the air.
"We're out," Qiao Sang said, looking at the familiar surroundings in front of her.
Ogefu kept walking forward and suddenly asked, "Do you want to contract Adinixi?"
Why bring this up so suddenly… Qiao Sang recalled his earlier words and mimicked the tone as she replied, "I don't exactly have any spare Contract Pages."
"True. Someone as gifted as you wouldn't risk damaging your brain domain just to dissolve a contract," Ogefu stopped, then turned toward her to speak.
Half of his face was hidden in shadow, the other half illuminated by moonlight, making him seem rather eerie.
"Would your teacher want to contract it, then?" Ogefu inquired further.
Qiao Sang frowned, puzzled. "Why are you asking this all of a sudden?"
