Chapter 33 - Chapter 33

"Oo bestie, I'm scared," Alicia whispered.

No need to be. The majority of the people in this house already approve of you, and that's what really matters," Daisy said reassuringly.

"You know I'm only doing all of this for you, right?"

"I know… and I'll forever be grateful to you," Daisy replied, tears threatening to escape her eyes. "I can't imagine living under the same roof with two old witches," Alicia muttered.

"No need to worry," came a voice from behind. "My family and I don't live here."

Both women spun around in surprise. Alicia's heart skipped a beat when she saw Leo and Jeff standing right in front of them.

"Uh… uh… I'm so sorry for calling your moms witches. You see, sometimes I speak without thinking… I think it's genetic," Alicia blurted out with a nervous laugh. "Funny, right?"

"It's okay. I have no problem with it," Jeff said calmly. "But from the way your husband here is staring at you, it looks like you're in some serious trouble. "Who cares?" Alicia scoffed, rolling her eyes.

"Daisy," Leo called out. "Hm?"

"As part of my agreement with Alicia, your comfort was taken into consideration. So please, have these." He reached into his pocket and handed her two keys. "And if I may ask… what are these for?" Daisy asked, clearly confused. "One is the key to your new apartment," Leo said gently. "And the other is your car key."

"Excuse me, what?" Daisy blinked in disbelief. "Oo Daisy! I'm so happy for you!" Alicia squealed, hugging her. I-I-I don't even know what to say… I'm speechless. I can't express this joy in words. Even if I worked my butt off for years, I wouldn't be able to achieve this dream. Thank you so much, Leon. Thank you!" Daisy gushed, her eyes glistening with tears. "Alicia, you're so lucky to have him as your husband."

"Alright, enough with the appreciation," Leo said coolly. "This is nothing." Alicia walked over to him and threw her arms around him.

"Thank you. Seriously… thank you," she said, pulling back to plant a quick kiss on his cheek. "I love you." The words slipped out before she could stop them. She gasped and quickly covered her mouth. "Did I just say that? I-I mean… it was out of excitement. Sorry!" she stammered, avoiding eye contact.

Leo remained silent, but his expression shifted ever so slightly. "So, Jeffery will personally drive you to the place," Leo continued, changing the subject. "Tomorrow by 6 a.m., a chauffeur will be at your service 24/7. Jeffery will also help you set up your credit card." As Leo finished, Alicia and Daisy exchanged happy kisses. "Goodnight, girl!" Daisy grinned.

Jeffery walked up to Alicia and pulled her into a warm hug. "Welcome to the family," he said softly. "Thanks," Alicia replied with a small smile. "Hey, wait," she whispered into his ear. "I know you like my friend. Please take care of her." Jeffery blushed.

"Oh my God, you're blushing!" Alicia teased. "You're such a softie! "You're such a tease, Alicia," Jeffery chuckled, shaking his head.

Alicia giggled, clearly enjoying herself. "Care to share the reason behind your annoying giggling?" Leo asked, sounding irritated. "Be kind enough to mind your own business," Alicia shot back, rolling her eyes again.

"That was savage!" Jeff laughed. "Daisy , can we get going, please?" "This way," Jeff said, leading her like the true gentleman he was.

"Jeffery! Come back here!" Leo suddenly called out. "See you tomorrow at the office, Leo!" Jeff shouted without looking back.

"What the—" Leo muttered under his breath, clearly annoyed as he watched them walk away.
