"Ruby, let's meet!"
Hardy Mercer's voice was hoarse, sounding as though he had just woken up from illness. There was no trace of joy or sadness in his tone, and Ruby Mercer couldn't discern his intentions, but she agreed.
"Alright! Send me the location." Ruby Mercer hung up the phone, her expression unreadable. Recent events seemed as though orchestrated by someone; this feeling of passivity made Ruby extremely annoyed.
Returning to the country felt too passive; overseas, she had carved her niche, but domestically, she was like a tiny shrimp, easily suppressed.
Hardy Mercer arranged the meeting in a luxurious VIP suite.
"Ruby, you've come back to reclaim the shares, haven't you?" Hardy Mercer spoke with a weighty tone.
"Mr. Mercer, I believe we have severed ties, haven't we? There's no need to sound so affectionate; I really am not used to it."
Ruby Mercer retorted with a sarcastic smile.
