Rune looked down from his spot in Miram's arms to see his companions fighting far below on the ground. They were being pushed back. Beams of crimson and white light cut through the air, hissing bubbles of acid burst into steam, and heavy impacts created shockwaves amongst the turmoil. Just his absence alone had been enough to tip the scales in Marilith's favor.
"I suppose I should be getting back to the others, then," Rune sighed. He titled he head slightly and glanced back at Miriam while giving a faint smile. "I can at least count on you to save me if things go south, right?"
"Of course, Darling!"
Miriam hugged him tight and snuggled her armored face against his. It was almost comedic hearing such a cute voice coming from behind her full, closed helmet.
"How about a helping hand to get me back into the action?"
"Yes!"
