Chapter 770 - Chapter 769: A Mental Wound Needs a Mental Remedy

Tony scratched his head, frowning. "We can't afford the purified version of Dreamwalking. Wanda, is there any other item that might work?"

"Yes there is, It's called Snow of Serenity. Costs 500 points. It's a single-use item that keeps your mind completely clear and immune to any kind of interference," Wanda explained. "For a limited time, it grants near-total immunity to negative mental effects—even the Mind Stone or any kind of dark magic won't work on you. Most importantly, it cleanses the soul."

She gently touched her chest, her voice tinged with sorrow. "You know, ever since we came back from the last round of the Quiz game, I've been feeling awful. I know those futures are still far off, but I can't help thinking about them… thinking about my kids…"

"I've been dreaming about them a lot lately. Waking up with my pillow soaked. I haven't been in a good place, and I feel so unsettled. But after seeing the futures revealed just now, I finally understand what I'm afraid of. I don't want to become that evil witch."

Wanda sighed. "That's why, when I found Snow of Serenity, I knew I had to get it. It had already cycled out of the shop a few days ago, but I got lucky—it's back again. And it's the perfect match for using the Darkhold. I don't want to miss this chance again."

Tony and Bruce exchanged a glance, both startled, and realizing the issue was more serious than they'd thought.

Tony opened the Points Shop to confirm it. Sure enough, he found the item—Snow of Serenity. The description matched Wanda's word for word. Its regular price was 1000 points, but there was a limited-time promotion going on—half off.

"Uh… I don't have 500 points on me. But Peter One—could help you get it. That's not the real issue, though…" Tony said, staring intently at Wanda. "Wanda, are things really this bad? Have you seen a therapist?"

Peter One was one of the richest players in the game. With access to the player interface and quest system, he could earn points way faster than the rest. Most of his points went into upgrading himself, but he kept some in reserve for emergencies. He could easily afford 500 points.

He even stepped up, ready to buy it on the spot—but Tony subtly signaled him to wait.

Wanda didn't notice their silent exchange. She sank into a chair, her expression distant. "I've seen a therapist, but honestly, a few drinks before bed help more."

Bruce frowned. "Wanda, I thought you were never that into your future. Like, marrying Vision and all that… Why the sudden change?"

It was true—Wanda had joined the Avengers and the Multiverse Defenders early due to the Quiz game revealing so much about the future. Because of that, she didn't really identify with that version of herself. It all felt too distant.

Besides, thanks to the game's spoilers, Vision's entire storyline had basically been shelved. The future had already changed. Wanda had always seen those clips like watching a movie—interesting, but not real.

But the last two rounds of the Quiz game hit differently. They shook her inner peace. She still wasn't interested in future romances—but those two children? She'd formed a deep, inexplicable emotional bond with them.

This confused and frightened her. She had seen the footage where Doctor Strange's future showed her descending into madness over her children—how monstrous and terrifying she became.

She wanted to change her mindset—but it wasn't that simple. Trying to force herself not to think about them only made it worse. The emotions kept building up under the surface, waiting to explode.

So she turned to the Quiz game's item shop, and Snow of Serenity was the "medicine" she found to treat her mental wound.

Right now, Wanda was like a patient, slowly revealing the journey of her thoughts and feelings. She was so absorbed in her own inner world, she didn't even realize that more people had entered the room.

Charles, Peter three, and Bruce Wayne had all arrived quietly. At a glance from Bruce, the three of them said nothing—just listened patiently as Wanda poured her heart out.

"…You probably think it's ridiculous. I don't know why either. I know I'm not ready to be a mom—not even close. I'm completely aware of that. But I still feel like I need to take care of those two kids. Like I want to be there for them. And if this keeps up… I might really steal the Darkhold one day and turn into that ugly, twisted witch from the future."

"No. We won't let that happen," Bruce said firmly.

Wanda looked up sharply, finally noticing the three new arrivals. Professor X and Peter three gave her warm, reassuring smiles. Bruce, in his full Batman gear and still stained with blood from a recent fight, just stood silently with his usual poker face.

Wanda looked at Bruce, then at Tony and Bruce (Banner this time), her expression darkening. "You think I'm lying, don't you?"

"No," Bruce said, shaking his head. "Wanda, we believe you. It's just…" He scratched his head, clearly struggling with how to express it.

Tony, on the other hand, didn't hesitate. "Okay, I'll be honest—yes, I did question your motives. You said it yourself—you're afraid you might become the evil witch. Of course that makes us cautious. The first thing you said was that you wanted access to the Darkhold, and to learn Dreamwalking. Doesn't that raise a few red flags?"

Wanda's face darkened further. Being falsely accused never felt good—especially by someone she'd once considered an enemy.

She opened her mouth to snap back—but Tony's tone suddenly shifted.

"But Wanda, you did the right thing. You spoke up. You didn't bottle it up and suffer alone. That was the right move."

"I'm not singling you out. You saw the future—it's not just you. Stephen turns dark too. We all have the potential to go down that path—Bruce, Clark, everyone. And that's why, when we're going through stuff like this, we need to talk about it. Be honest. Help each other through it. So yes, Wanda—I'll help you. We will."

Tony might be unpredictable at times, but in moments that truly mattered, he never let people down. His sincerity in that moment eased something inside Wanda.

She quietly muttered a thank-you, then turned to Bruce Wayne. "We've delayed long enough. Isn't it time we made a move?"
