Maya's heart was so heavy when she walked out of the office towards the elevator. She entered the elevator, and she was the only one there. Her mind clouded with different thoughts, 'How could Dr. Alik think of assigning me to Frank?' She thought.
'What will I do? How will I control my feelings and emotions around him? Will I be able to keep the secret? What if the evidence comes out earlier than expected?' she thought.
Maya looked at the elevator, and she was surprised that it was taking her up to the last floor again. The elevator door pinged and she stepped out. She was on the last floor of the hospital building, the worst thing is that she was on the hospital wing where Frank's executive ward is located.
It happened that Teddy had excused himself to pick the call from his mother. He ended the call and his eyes landed on Maya.
"Dr. Maya, you are still here? Are you on the night shift?" Teddy asked as he approached her.
"Aaa…no…mine will begin tomorrow I am going home Teddy," She said.
"Okay Dr. Maya…."
"Oh please, Teddy, stop the formalities. I am just an intern and besides we are acquaintance, no need of formalities," Maya said with a smile on her lips.
"Oops, I thought you are my friend? I need to keep a distance now," He joked. "No, if we are acquaintance then no problem when I address you as Doctor Maya. If you want me to can you by your name alone without the tittle, then you have to be my friend," Teddy stated.
"Is that a condition or requirements?" Maya asked.
"I don't know, my friend," Teddy said as he raised his shoulders up with his hands pocketed.
Maya chuckled, Teddy stretched his hand for a handshake. Maya did the same too, but when Teddy withdrew his hand, he left $5 dollar in Maya's hand.
"That's for agreeing to be my friend, it's not bribery. Bye Maya, I will see you tomorrow. I am spending the night in Frank's room," Teddy said hurriedly, then walked away.
Maya's mouth was agape. She wanted to say something, but before words could form, Teddy had already entered Frank's ward.
Maya smiled then turned to walk away. She had a lot on her mind, so she decided to take the stairs than the elevator. She would rather not repeat the same mistake.
Anyway, to Maya that was not a mistake, it was a blessing in disguise. She was to trek her way home, but thanks to the elevator and Teddy, she had money to use for the taxi home.
Maya is an intern, so she was yet to start receiving the monthly stipend. Her upbringing had been so difficult, her mother used to work for the Hepburn as a maid. Some years back, after Tasha had given birth to Audrey, she developed postpartum depression that made her push her husband away. In return, Tony Hepburn fell for the maid, their affair lead to Maya being conceived. Tasha learned the truth and send Jacky Clark; Maya's mother away. The only thing that Tony agreed to do was to give Maya a surname and nothing else, well, Tasha forced him to do so by threatening him that she was going to leave him and the Audrey away.
Maya's upbringing had not been a soft one, they have been surviving from the meager salary that her other received from doing odd jobs. Raising medical school fees was hell for them, but at least they are now grateful that the only thing remaining is Maya's graduation.
Teddy was a little aware of Maya's life. Giving her $5 didn't mean anything to him. He was not bribing her or using the money to get Maya like him, but he was just helping her out as a brother.
Teddy knew that if he had handed Maya the money directly, she would have declined. She doesn't like free things or people pitying her.
Finally, Maya arrived at the last floor of the building, she walked out and boarded a taxi that dropped her home.
She found her mother preparing dinner already.
"Good evening, mum," Maya said as she walked in the house.
"Oh dear, you are back?" Miss Jacky asked. Freshen up, dinner will be ready in a minute.
"Oh, mum, I told you I will come to cook. You know very we that you are still sick. I don't want you to overwork yourself," Maya complained.
"It's nothing, dear, I am feeling okay now. Besides, cooking is nothing."

Audrey and his father were served dinner, chicken biryani.
They ate it in silence until, Mr. Hepburn broke the silence.
"How is auditing and all the finance department taking you?" He asked.
"Fine, everyone is nice to me," Audrey said as she chewed on her chicken.
He hummed and continued enjoying the stew. It was delicious.
"Where did mum go, dad? This is the third day we are eating dinner alone," Audrey asked when she had finished eating.
"She is a little busy, I hope you understand her. Is there something you want from her?" Mr. Hepburn asked.
"Not really, I just miss eating together as a family," Audrey informed.
"Ooh, she told me she wants to start a charity work organization or something like that with her friends. Anyway go early to be don't wait on her, I know she will be back pretty late," He advised.
"Sure, dad," Audrey Said, then left the dining table.
Mr. Hepburn did the same five minutes later
He was going to bed earlier that day because if the following day schedule in his office.
Around 10:30 pm, Audrey left her bedroom, she walked in the living room and the corridors of other rooms, making sure that everyone was sleeping. She went back to her bedroom.
Audrey lied on bed and the incident in the hospital played back in her mind. The way frank looked directly into her eyes and told her that he does want her company.
Audrey humphed, 'You will regret it' she wondered then picked her cellphone and called someone.
"Hey, are you already sleeping?" Audrey asked.
"No, just about to go to bed," He answered.
"Can you come over, it's urgent," Audrey stated?
"Urgent? What happened, baby girl?. Audrey's talk to me…."
There was no reply, Audrey hanged up and left for the bathroom. She spent some time preparing her body with warm bathtub.
She heard a gentle knock on the window, she knew exactly it was. Only one person uses that window as a door.
She got out of the bathtub, wiped her boy clean and tied a towel around it.
Audrey walked back to her room and opened the window.
"I knew you would come," Aubrey said after opening the window, by sliding the window pen aside.
"You made me worried, what is urgent?" He asked as he leaned in and kissed her.
"Make yourself comfortable on bed. I will be back," Audrey said, then walked back to the bathroom.
After three minutes, Audrey opened the bathroom door slowly, then cat walked into her room.
Ray left what he was doing and turned towards her directions. His jaw dropped opened as he drooled over Audrey's body. She was wearing red lingerie.
"Do you like what you are seeing?" Audrey asked as she placed her index finger in her mouth.
Ray shook his head as he got from the bed. "I love it…. I love it…." He repeated as he swallowed hard and walked to her.
