The next few days?
Hell.
She ignored his texts.
Kyle: "Did I push too far?"
Kyle: "Talk to me."
Kyle: "You okay?"
Kyle: "Forget it.
She read every one of them.
And left him on read.
She skipped practice. Or left early. Or made sure to stay where he wasn't.
He didn't chase her.
But the way he looked at her across the gym?
Like he was holding himself back with every inch of his willpower?
It tore her apart.
Jane noticed. Of course she did. But Raye brushed it off with excuses and fake smiles.
She wasn't ready to explain what happened between her and Kyle.
Mostly because she didn't even understand it herself.
And partly because... she wasn't sure if she could ever look him in the eye again without wanting to kiss him and cry at the same time.
Practice was a complete disaster.
Raye couldn't focus. The instructor yelled her name twice before giving up.
Kyle didn't even show up, and part of her wished he had. Part of her wished he'd just forget her entirely.
But that wasn't Kyle.
When she left the gym, thinking she'd made it out without confrontation, her stomach dropped.
He was standing by the hallway.
Back leaned against the wall. Arms crossed. Hoodie halfway off his shoulder. That unreadable, stormy expression in his eyes.
"You done avoiding me now?" he asked, voice low.
Raye froze. "I—I have to return a book."
"Library, right?" He pushed off the wall and began walking beside her.
Her throat went dry.
She walked faster.
So did he. She reached the library door, trying not to panic. "Kyle, not here—"
He opened the door first and held it open.
They stepped inside.
She tried heading for the rows in the back, where she knew people wouldn't hear.
But Kyle had other plans.
Suddenly, his hand gripped her arm, and he spun her around, backing her against a tall bookshelf. The edge hit her spine as she gasped.
"Kyle—"
He pressed a hand beside her head. "What is your deal?"
"There are people here!" she whispered harshly, eyes flicking around. "We'll get into trouble."
"I don't care." His voice was cold. Dead serious. "I'm done playing the nice guy."
"You were never the nice guy," she muttered.
His jaw flexed. "Exactly."
Then he leaned in.
His lips crashed into hers—fast, unrelenting. Her breath hitched she tried to push against him instinctively, but he pinned her wrists above her head with one hand while the other explored her body with a possessiveness that left her breathless.
"Say you're mine," he murmured against her lips before trailing kisses down her neck.
The sensation was overwhelming, and she struggled to form words amidst the chaos of emotions flooding through her.
Raye closed her eyes, feeling his hand slip under her t-shirt, his touch igniting a fire within her .
"Kyle, we're in the library," Raye managed to whisper, her voice barely audible over the pounding of her heart.
He paused for a moment, his gaze intense as he looked into her eyes.
"I'm not going to stop until you agree to stop avoiding me," he whispered, his voice filled with a mix of desire and determination.
Before she could respond and maybe catch her breaths too , he lifted her effortlessly, her legs instinctively wrapping around his waist as he carried her further into the library.
Pressed against another bookshelf, Raye grew cautious.
"Kyle, someone might see us," Raye warned, again ,her voice trembling with a mix of fear and anticipation.
She regretted all life decisions at this moment .
But he silenced her with another kiss, his lips claiming hers with a possessiveness that left her breathless.
His hands moved slowly but surely down her body jerking Raye out of her trance . Her eyes flew open , alarm bells ringing in her head .
He started unbuttoning her shirt , revealing the lace of the bra she wore ,underneath.
Raye gasped as his fingers grazed against her skin, sending shivers down her spine.
"Kyle," Raye whispered again, trying to find the words amidst the chaos of emotions flooding through her.
But before she could say anything more, he continued his exploration of her body, leaving Raye speechless and breathless.
His intensity was overwhelming, and she struggled to keep up with the pace of his desire.
"You wanna keep avoiding me?" he murmured, lips brushing her neck. "Then you better make it worth it."
She whimpered. "Someone could see."
"They should." He kissed her again—slower this time. "They should see who you belong to."
Her face flamed.
Her thoughts were spinning.
Geez why didn't I stay at home today Raye thought eyes closed as she groaned tiredly
He pulled back just enough to look her in the eyes. "Say it."
"Kyle—"
"Say you're mine or I swear, I'm gonna keep kissing you 'til someone catches us."
Her mouth dropped. "You wouldn't—"
But he already leaned in again.
A kiss on her jaw.
Her cheek.
The corner of her mouth. Like a taunt.
"Tick-tock, Raye."
Her heart raced like it was trying to escape her chest. "Fine. Fine, ah fuck . Fine . I'm yours. Are you happy now?"
Kyle stopped.
He set her down gently, his eyes still intense but less demanding.
Raye cleared her throat , her cheeks red from embarrassment and what they had done . She quickly worked on the buttons of her shirt .
Cursing herself for ever thinking she could avoid this guy .
They moved to a secluded corner of the library, away from prying eyes.
Sitting on the floor , Raye tried to calm her beating heart and also her body which was seriously hot .
She had never been touched in such away before.
She looked down to find one of the button of her shirt open revealing her bra as she quickly fumbled with the button cheeks heated up .
This wasn't how she planned today ...seriously .
Cornered into a library and being kissed like hell that thought didn't even cross her mind .
Geez she could still feel his lips on her body .
Her neck .
Her cheek ..and his hands on her waist .
He had raised her like she weighed nothing and still kept her up ....damn the guy was strong .
Raye could bet a million dollar if she had one , that she wasn't going to get a proper sleep this night .
And if she told Jane , she would tease her for the rest of her life .
She glanced up at Kyle to see him still pacing before he turned to stare at her
Eyes locked on hers.
Still furious.
Still beautiful in the most dangerous way.
She was about to look at something else , when she felt him take quick steps towards her before cupping her jaw turning her face to meet his intense gaze .
"Stop avoiding me Raye seriously it's messing with my head ".
"I don't want a half-version of you," he continued, voice low. "I want all of it. The messy. The overthinking. The drama. All of it. Don't run again."
She blinked. "You just forced me to say I'm yours in a library, Kyle. You practically threatened me with suspension via kissing."
He shrugged. "And you said it."
"You're insane."
"You like insane."
She opened her mouth to argue but shut it back up .
Kyle was exactly like Jane ...they knew how to render her speechless and sometimes hopeless too .
Then sighed. "Maybe."
He took her hand in his squeezing softly before intertwining their fingers together .
They sat on the floor behind a shelf filled with dusty encyclopedias no one used anymore.
"Now talk to me," he said, calmer now. "Tell me why you ghosted me."
She stared at the floor, picking at her fingernails. "Because I was embarrassed."
"I kissed you too. Not the other way around."
"And I straddled you five seconds before that ."
Silence.
Then he smirked. "Not complaining."
She glared. "This is why I ghosted you."
"Because I make you feel things?"
"No—because you're chaotic."
He leaned closer. "So are you."
She didn't respond.
Kyle sighed. Tugged her hand again.
"Look. I get it. That day was intense. You were accused. Everyone turned on you. I saw you break. I saw how hard you tried to hold it together."
"You didn't try to fix me," she whispered.
"I'm not a fixer. I just want to be there while you patch yourself up."
That quiet moment settled between them. Soft and sharp all at once.
"Still mine?" he asked, voice low again.
She nodded.
"Say it."
She rolled her eyes. "I'm yours. Happy now?"
He smirked like the devil and kissed her again—quick and rough.
Then stood up and offered his hand.
"Good. Because if someone else tries to take you now, I might actually commit a crime"
"Yeah like the one you did on Joshua's face ?" Raye asked tauntingly already taken a step away from him only for Kyle to wrap his hand around her waist bringing her body back to his .
Raye gasped feeling Kyle hot breath close to her ears as she hearing him whisper .
"That was just a little , fuck ,I could do anything for you Raye ".
Oh help me Raye thought cheeks turning pink as she felt Kyle move his lips slowly like he was tracing a part on her neck .
"Um ok , I need to go now ".
Kyle hummed placing a soft kiss on her cheek he slowly released her .
Raye counted ten seconds in her head trying to find her legs , because she was sure the moment she took a step , she would fall .
After coordinating herself she quickly sprinted out of the library .
