Ancient Demons: Asuras and Rakshasas
To understand the species that exist in this world, one must first understand the Ancient Demons, known as the Asuras and Rakshasas.
These were primordial beings who walked the Earth during the Satya Yuga and the Treta Yuga. Their dominion was not limited to a single world—they could travel freely across the universe and wield power that rivaled even the gods.
Even the lowest-ranked demon among them possessed an undying body. Such beings did not age, decay, or perish naturally; they would remain alive indefinitely unless killed. However, they were not truly immortal like the Demon Lords. They existed as subjects beneath the authority of the mighty Demon Lords, bound by hierarchy and obedience.
Though their era has ended, their existence has not. The Asuras and Rakshasas are now dead yet active, persisting as remnants of body, soul, and will—seeking fusion with the living to reclaim existence.
Species Classification
There are four primary species in this world.
1. Divine Warlocks and Normal Warlocks
Warlocks are beings who retain human bodies, but whose souls are no longer purely human.
Divine Warlocks
Divine Warlocks possess a trace bloodline of Demon Lords. Their soul is fused with that of an Asura (Demon King)—one who holds the potential to ascend into a Demon Lord, known as an Asureshwara.
This fusion grants them:
Exceptionally powerful souls
Vast magical reserves
High affinity for spells, rituals, and curses
Their physical bodies, while largely human, are strengthened by demonic influence. This reinforcement allows them to endure battlefield-level punishment and survive spell recoil, partially negating their physical weakness. However, their bodies do not rival those of Divine Shapeshifters or Divine Vampires.
Divine Warlocks can form contracts with powerful divine beings or Demon Lords, granting them access to forbidden spells, devastating blessings, and borrowed authority.
Normal Warlocks
Normal Warlocks lack any Demon Lord bloodline. Their souls are fused with low-level demons, severely limiting their magical output and stability.
While capable of spellcasting and contracts, their power is diminished, unstable, and often comes at a severe personal cost.
2. Divine Shapeshifters and Normal Shapeshifters
Shapeshifters are beings whose bodies, rather than souls, are fused with demonic remnants.
Divine Shapeshifters
Divine Shapeshifters possess human souls fused with the body of an Asura. This fusion allows them to shapeshift into powerful creatures, often monstrous or mythical in nature.
They possess:
Tremendous physical strength
Extreme durability and combat instincts
Inability to perform spells, as their soul remains human
However, their souls are far from weak. The Asura body reinforces the human soul, granting immense willpower, resistance to mental domination, and heightened control over transformation. This strength of soul compensates for their lack of spellcasting, though it does not reach the absolute dominance of Divine Vampires.
They also possess a strong Demon Lord bloodline, making them devastating frontline combatants.
Normal Shapeshifters
Normal Shapeshifters lack Demon Lord bloodline. Their bodies are fused with low-level demons, limiting both their transformation potential and physical power.
3. Divine Vampires
Divine Vampires are the result of a perfect fusion, a phenomenon so rare it is considered both a blessing and a curse.
They are formed through the complete fusion of:
A human soul
A Demon Lord's soul
A body capable of sustaining both
This grants them:
Overwhelming physical strength
Exceptionally powerful souls
Regenerative abilities far beyond other species
Their physical power surpasses that of both Divine Warlocks and Divine Shapeshifters.
However, there is a fatal uncertainty.
Their true power depends entirely on their innate abilities—the inherent traits possessed by both the human and demon souls. It is possible for one or both souls to possess weak or incompatible abilities, drastically limiting their potential.
Choosing this path is a gamble, as no one can predict the outcome of perfect fusion.
There are no Normal Vampires.
Perfect fusion is possible only with Demon Lords.
Note on Fusion
All such transformations are possible because Asuras and Rakshasas are already dead. They exist as symbiotic remnants, permanently fusing with a host to gain a second existence.
Once fused, separation is impossible.
As a result, individuals often experience subtle yet irreversible changes in personality, instincts, and desires after changing species.
4. Primordial Vampires
Primordial Vampires are a forbidden and unique species.
Only the main character and his family belong to this race.
Their true origin, nature, and abilities will be revealed in future chapters.
Further details regarding species, bloodlines, fusions, and the brutal consequences of coexisting with ancient demons will be explored in later chapters.
