Chapter 3 - Chapter 3: Just Coveting Mrs. Wen's Position

Wen Fucheng spoke little, mostly listening to them. Occasionally, he would sip some tea... Even if someone tried to add wine to his cup, he politely declined.

Someone laughed and said that even though Wen is young, his tea-drinking habits made him seem like he was living a retired life.

Wen Fucheng simply replied, "I'm getting older, need to start taking care of my health."

With all these years combined, both from his past life and this one, it really does add up to being older.

"Mr. Wen, you're only twenty-nine, how can you be considered old? It's the prime of your life, your handsome looks must attract many young ladies."

The man's expression was calm, making it hard to gauge his thoughts, but Wen Yue had mentioned that his uncle wasn't someone to be trifled with.

The rest didn't dare to say much.

Xu Yi entered the room after finishing his call, his gaze sweeping over the room until it landed on a certain understated man in black sitting in a corner.

This one was very low-key, yet the aura he carried was impossible to ignore.

Jiang Cheng noticed the odd atmosphere and stood up, grabbing his friend's shoulder. "Why the long face? Did something happen with Ying Jing?"

"No worries, she'll be here for dinner soon."

Having dinner was one thing, but there was something else. On the phone, Ying Jing specifically asked if Wen Fucheng was here. Normally, he'd reply, "Not sure," but today was different; this man was indeed here.

Jiang Cheng opened his mouth, unsure if he should mention the little incident to his friend.

A few minutes ago, Xu Yi had been standing outside in the wind.

He asked Ying Jing why she was suddenly inquiring about Wen Fucheng.

"He's not someone easily dealt with."

"I just heard he's impressive and wanted to ask if you could help out. I just want a peek, just a peek. Help a girl out, will you? You know I've been participating in a competition recently, which is hosted by Dynasty Entertainment."

"You want to cut corners?"

"Nonsense." Ying Jing's tone suddenly heightened. "I'm just curious about what my future boss looks like! I promise not to cause any trouble, I'll behave."

Ying Jing couldn't speak the truth, but as soon as she stepped out into the cold wind, her mind cleared considerably.

Reflecting calmly, she realized she might be rushing things.

Right now, Wen Fucheng doesn't even know her. If she eagerly approached him, would he categorize her with those women vying to be Mrs. Wen?

Standing by the roadside, Ying Jing suddenly understood.

Being categorized isn't an issue; she's precisely aiming for the Mrs. position.

She is tempted by Wen Fucheng's allure.

It's widely known that the four young masters in Hu City adore the Ying Family's member, so Xu Yi couldn't resist Ying Jing's charms and reluctantly agreed.

The people on that side had already gotten into their car.

Happily hung up the phone.

Gave herself a thumbs-up in her heart.

She was now slightly anticipating the moment she'd meet him.

-

Being stuck in traffic delayed her by a few minutes, Wen Yue arrived a few minutes before Ying Jing did, still holding hands with a young girl.

"Let me introduce you. Jiang Cheng, Xu Yi, Ye Qingyu are all my good friends... This is my second uncle."

Yan Shuang's gaze met Wen Fucheng's and she froze for a few seconds. He simply glanced at her indifferently before retracting his gaze. Wen Yue was attending college in Hu City and had started dating someone. According to rumors, he wanted to bring her back to the Imperial City for the New Year, but the Wen Family wasn't easy to enter.

Afraid of family opposition, he put out an advance notice, and this notice was none other than Wen Fucheng.

After all, whatever this man from the Wen Family says, goes.

Wen Fucheng came first for this matter.

Second, for another matter.

In terms of importance, the second matter seemed more significant than the first.

His gaze fell for the third time on the closed door, steadying his thoughts. The assistant accompanied him and, seeing this situation, whispered, "Mr. Wen, since you've met them, shall we go back to rest?" Wen Fucheng had just returned from abroad, landing in Imperial City before taking a flight to Hu City, not having rested all the way.

"Who's met them?"

Huh? Ah?

The assistant seemed puzzled and looked at the girl beside Wen Yue.

Soft and gentle, quietly leaning against Wen Yue like a harmless little bunny.

Yan Shuang gently tugged on Wen Yue's sleeve.

"Second Uncle doesn't like me, does he?"

Wen Yue comforted the girl. "No, that's just his personality, he's actually very nice. Don't worry! We won't meet often, and once he agrees to our matter, no one in the Wen Family would dare oppose."

Yan Shuang smiled gently at him but couldn't help but glance at the man seated at the head.

Everyone chatted lightly, and then the door creaked open. It didn't affect the conversation inside, but someone noticed the newcomer first, eyes drawn towards them without turning away.

Jiang Cheng was chatting with Wen Fucheng about some company matters.

Halfway through the conversation, he followed the man's unwavering gaze and saw Ying Jing.

The young girl was leaning at the doorway, poking her head in to peek.

She seemed to be assessing who was in the room.

Her lively eyes darted around energetically.

Jiang Cheng chuckled and spoke, "Jing Bao is here, come in."

Ying Jing giggled, fully pushing the door open. The hallway lights cast into the room, enhancing her beauty by several degrees.

"Good afternoon, Third Brother."

Xu Yi also saw her and immediately invited the young girl to sit down, his words full of concern.

Most people here she knew, so she didn't stand on ceremony.

She called out to everyone sweetly.

When it came to Wen Fucheng, even her sweetest voice ran stuck. In her past life, she had no relationship with Wen Fucheng, yet being in almost the same circle, it was hard not to hear about him.

There was nothing she could do; he was simply too impressive.

Xu Yi had gone out to take a call.

Wen Yue was busy being affectionate with his girlfriend.

Jiang Cheng hesitated at Wen Fucheng's earlier words, unsure whether to speak.

"Wen Fucheng." The voice was slightly deep but clear, making Ying Jing perk up.

"Mr. Wen, hello."

The young girl's eyes curved, smiling like an adorable, clueless fox.

She irresistibly drew a smile from the depths of his eyes, no one could see clearly under the dim light how attentively he examined the young woman before him.

Just her!

Worth accompanying through rebirth, still with such good temper.

Ying Jing's call of "Mr. Wen" made Xu Yi, returning from his call, hear it and slap her back. "Why call him Mr. Wen? That's Second Uncle."

For someone they all had to respectfully call, Ying Jing naturally had to follow suit.

Ying Jing was reluctant to call him that; she and Wen Fucheng shared no blood relation.

Moreover, calling him Second Uncle would make matters awkward and interfere with business dealings.

"Mr. Wen is still young, shouldn't I call him Big Brother Wen instead?"

Her words somewhat aroused dissatisfaction among the young men present.

"Whose favor is Jing Bao trying to take here."

They called Wen Fucheng Second Uncle, while Ying Jing called him Big Brother Wen; then what should they call Ying Jing?

This young lady had some grand ideas.

Ying Jing was finally forced by Xu Yi, who pressed her head, to call the man sitting upright on the sofa 'Second Uncle'.
