Shay Windsor's voice was clear and crisp, but each word carried a weight when it fell.
"Have you ever thought, instead of stirring up the whole fabric drama, Oliver Bloom could have just bought the prize for you or tampered with the final scores?"
"The more people involved, the higher the risk of exposure."
"Why?" Shay Windsor asked.
Elise Don looked at him, "Because he wants to drive a wedge between you and me."
Shay Windsor let out a bitter laugh.
"A roll of fabric to create conflict between you and Kitty is to sow discord between you and me. That roll made you see me as a competitor, made you doubt my view of you."
"Throughout this ordeal, I never doubted your character, nor your talent. Moreover, I believe that even without someone buying the prize for you, you could fairly compete with anyone."
Shay Windsor sighed softly, with a trace of regret in his eyes. He never underestimated the fragility of human nature, but he understood what Elise Don needed.
