"I'm late, Grandpa, Dad, Mom."
Elise Don greeted each person in turn. Even though she had done it at the wedding yesterday, saying it again today still made her blush uncontrollably.
Marian Bloom, being a modern mother-in-law, smiled and motioned for Elise to sit down.
"Our family isn't rigid with traditions. You don't need to make a special effort to get up early in the future."
Elise heaved a small sigh of relief. She was different from Oliver Bloom; she really wasn't good at waking up early.
She sat next to Oliver, quietly eating breakfast, trying her best to appear poised, and making a conscious effort not to observe Oliver's expression.
The entire meal was eaten in an oppressive silence, with only the sounds of knives, forks, bowls, and chopsticks clinking. Elise then realized that Oliver's reserved nature largely stemmed from the atmosphere of his family.
After breakfast was cleared and fruits were served, someone finally spoke.
