I thought life in the Outer City would be a bit more comfortable, but within half a day, I'd encountered so many things that it left Li Zheng with a bit of a mind fog.
Seeing Basil constantly busy and dealing with things Li Zheng had never heard of, he felt too embarrassed to interrupt any further and returned to his greenhouse with Kota.
"You, bar... done busy?" Mirel asked without lifting her head when she heard movement.
In just under twenty minutes, her Chinese had become more and more fluent, and she had even picked up the pronunciation on her own, striving to speak each word clearly and correctly.
"Yes, done. In general... although I gleaned quite a bit of information, it doesn't have much use for me at the moment." Li Zheng sat beside Mirel, waved a hand to send Kota next door to take care of his two foolish brothers, saving them from causing more ridiculous incidents.
"How about you? How's your learning going?"
