Lucy Ansley held her coffee cup and gazed into the man's deep-set eyes, unresponsive for a while.
"Are you so surprised to see me?" Henry Ronan crossed his legs, his usual leisurely demeanor apparent, and caught sight of the girl's left hand resting on the sofa, naturally taking it in his own.
Feeling the warmth on the back of her hand, Lucy Ansley withdrew her gaze, sipped her coffee again, and though she said nothing, the upward curve of her mouth was distinctly bright.
The man gently held her soft little hand, a soft smile forming at his thin lips, "Not intending to talk to me?"
"Of course not." With those words, Lucy Ansley turned her hand to intertwine with Henry Ronan's fingers, giving him a playful glance, "It's just a bit odd, weren't you supposed to wait for me in Zenith City?"
Her father had specially reminded her yesterday that Henry Ronan would be there to meet her.
