The men came out of the elevator on the other side, passing by each other without a direct encounter.
Walter Schmidt and the others rang the doorbell outside the room. After a long while without anyone answering, or even a sound, they called a staff member.
Bryan White showed his military ID again and repeated the lines he used to bluff the receptionist earlier. The staff contacted the front desk and, once his story was confirmed, opened the door for them.
"Bryan White, what do you think Mabel Doyle would do if she knew you called her a 'national fugitive'?" Walter raised an eyebrow, having already witnessed Mabel Doyle's temper. If she heard Bryan White's comments, the situation would be even more explosive.
Bryan White ignored him, frowned, and watched as the staff opened the door, then walked inside.
The three men looked inside, but saw no one. There were no bags or anything, just several bottles of liquor on the coffee table, two of them still unfinished.
