He pointed to the apartment and said, "What? Not going to invite me in?"
"Uh, of course..." Mabel Doyle snapped back to reality, immediately smiled and stepped aside, gesturing, "Please come in."
Donald nodded, instructing his subordinates to wait outside, and stepped into the apartment alone.
After walking into the living room, the man looked around once, stood in the center, and said, "How are you finding living alone? If I hadn't asked your father, I wouldn't have known you moved out..."
Mabel remained silent, bringing out a glass of whiskey from the kitchen. She knew her mentor loved to have a drink, especially in the afternoon.
"Master, sit..." She placed the whiskey on the coffee table, smiling faintly.
Donald glanced at the drink on the table, smiled, and sat down, but shook his head and said, "I've quit drinking now, get me a cup of coffee instead."
