Laura thought that Aditya would return by evening. Even though, before leaving, he said that it might take him more than a few days to return.
But she had heard from others who had been inside the Trial that, on average, the trial lasts for 4 to 7 hours. This much time is enough for the challengers to reach the final two stages, if they can, that is.
She thought that with his power and skills, he would definitely stay more than 7 hours inside the trial.
Once it was dark outside, she kept waiting.
The more hours passed, the more nervous she felt.
The thought of going to the trial herself and asking the Elders about Aditya kept growing stronger and more frequent.
Meanwhile, she tried to cultivate, but her mind wasn't calm at all.
When she tried to read, her thoughts kept drifting towards him. She couldn't worry about him.
When the waitress brought her meals, she barely ate anything. She wasn't in the mood to eat.
And then the second day came.
