Chapter 16 - Erase Your Past

"Is Tony sleeping?" After cleaning her tears, she asked, now a different person—one that had a realization.

"Mr Stark has indeed dozed off. What do you plan, Mrs White?"

"Jarvis, I need you to do me a favour. M-Make this bathroom soundproof, can you do it?"

"I'm afraid that's impossible as we're currently not in the Villa. Do you desire to isolate sound?"

"Yes... I don't want him to wake up... I'm going to be screaming, Jarvis. Loud."

"Then I can tell you where would be the best location. Mrs White, I believe you won't put yourself in danger. That wouldn't make Mr Stark happy, and hence, it is not something I can accept."

"I won't. Promise. It is for his sake." She declared, determined.

"Then the penthouse's balcony is the best location. I shall be with you just in case something happens..."

Cassandra left the room, furtively looking at the sleeping Tony before smiling and moving away, trying not to make a sound. She moved through the penthouse to the top of it.

It was rainy and windy... she could see the entire city of Los Angeles from here.

"What is the plan?" Jarvis asked from the communicator. Having allowed her this much freedom, it only hoped she'd not get in trouble.

"The plan is that I recover my memories... I don't know where I come from, but I know something. That place is way more technologically advanced than here. There is something else that I know... this energy I can use... it is way more powerful than Tony's reactor and also 'relatively' safe..."

She had gained her memories before, during the flight, and recalled how she used her powers, but now she needed to recall the origin of those powers.

"So...?"

"So... I don't want to, but I need to remember. I need to look at my memories for something that will help me save him... I need to save him, because I love him."

"But it will be painful..."

"It will be more painful if he dies..."

She held her head, inhaled and exhaled. The rain crashed against her body, seemingly turning harsher by the second.

"I hope you succeed, Mrs White."

"I will."

"UGH!" She clutched her head and tried to tie the knots, recall, imagine...

Her consciousness entered her mind right at that moment, and the cascade of memories started to resurface like a vengeance. She fell to her knees on the penthouse's balcony, holding her chest and head in pain.

The memories poured as if in the third person. She could see herself.

BAAANGGG!!!!

Her slender figure was blasted away by the attack of a creature. It was a humanoid female, so strong that she still shivered even when this was a recreation of her memories.

"Pandora-type Nova... N-No, this is not what I need."

She tried to move along those memories, recalling them but not merging with them.

Struggling with her headache, she cast aside that memory. She cast aside the memory of that disgusting moment in the Aoi Compound. She didn't even want to look at it—it was the most painful, the most disgusting, and the one she desired for Tony to know the least.

But he had known it now, and he didn't judge. Hence, retaining any semblance of care toward that memory would be merely an insult to her lover.

She cast it aside like a piece of trash—right where it belonged: the nothingness.

Orie Aoi, Ryuuichi Aoi... they didn't deserve her time or sadness.

Erased.
