Conversations between friendly people are often that plain, without all the messy stuff. A few words can convey a lot of meaning.
Lin Fan asked, "Are you on your own now?"
Bao Yuming replied, "I am now, but I wasn't before. During the apocalypse, I had companions. But since we chose to fight zombies in the apocalypse, danger was unavoidable. So when we encountered some tough zombies, my companions were killed by them."
Lin Fan thought that even though Bao Yuming seemed to speak lightly, he was actually very sorrowful. After all, they were companions who fought side by side, and being killed by zombies suddenly would leave anyone far from calm.
"Didn't you think about coming to the Sunshine Shelter back then?" Lin Fan asked.
