But I know those laid-off employees, some of them cherished this job and really needed it.
Once laid off, it's a big blow to both their personal life and family.
I sympathize with their plight but am powerless to help."
Luke asked, "Among those laid-off people, is there anyone who feels strongly dissatisfied with the hotel?"
Baron Ackman thought for a moment, "There is indeed one person who made a scene at the hotel after being laid off."
"Why was he laid off?"
"He was complained about by a customer, who is a long-term client of our hotel."
"What was the complaint about?"
"Harassment."
Luke said, "That complaint is very serious."
"Yes, it was settled only after the hotel executives got involved, otherwise, the client might have chosen to call the police. So, I personally think the layoff punishment wasn't severe.
