Chapter 2: Kree Empire
The Kree, a race that came into existence millions of years ago, with a complex history that very few people know about, aside from them. They inhabit a planet called Hala, in the galaxy of the Large Magellanic Cloud, millions of light years away form Earth.
As a species they had gone through numerous stages of evolution, leading to their current state. Closely resembling humans in appearance, their main difference being the color of their skin, some having blue, while others pink, similar to humans, with a few exceptions to other colors.
Their planet's environment, having higher gravity and different atmosphere composition, has granted them an improved physique, that surpassed that of the humans by at least two times. The only drawback being that they were unable to breath in air, whose content in nitrogen was low.
They were a warring race, belonging to an dictatorship, they had their sights on conquering every planet they could and then some more. But this wasn't without resistance, dating back to their first years, they had made their biggest enemy the Skrulls.
In the minds of the Kree, this shape-shifting enemy of theirs, was nothing but an evil that had to be erased. Still if one tried to find further information on the subject, he would only be met with redacted lines. Curious to someone who wanted to learn more about such a race, like a person who had just arrived to this planet, who had just become a Kree.
"So the Kree conquer planets, in the name of the Supreme Intelligence…what a load of bullshit. And what is this about the Skrulls, greatest evil to ever exist…they must be hiding something." Inside a library, a man was currently reading through piles of books, trying to absorb as much information as he could.
He had short brown hair, styled in a fade, stylish haircut. An average physique, belonging to someone who had just started to work out, his height couldn't be determined as he was sitting down. As for his face, it was that of young man, in his twenties, handsome but nothing too extreme.
What was most interesting, was his eyes, currently focused in the book he was reading. He had special set of cross shaped eyes, in a deep violet color, that could make one curious about him.
"I have to gain as much knowledge as I can in these two days they gave us…why did that goddess send me here…why not earth. And why am I a Kree? Not that I have any problem with that…" He contemplated, suddenly being thrown to a vastly different civilization wasn't a pleasant experience.
After he was teleported here, he had found himself in the middle of a recruitment gathering, for a military unit called the Starforce. From what he read, they were groups that had been given missions from the ruler of the Kree, The Supreme Intelligence, an advanced A.I. that they had built.
The staff sergeant, he guessed, had told them that the initiation test would begin in two days. This was the first thing he heard when he arrived at this place, ignoring the insults that were mixed within.
"A name…I was Christian Jones…but that wouldn't work here. Eeh…Jin-ah…no…Cri-Nje…nope. Senoj…I mean, its not that bad." Knowledge wasn't the only thing he needed right now, he had to have an appropriate name. And so it was decided that from this point on he would be Senoj.
He has been searching around this capital city of the Kree, Kree-Lar, for around a day now. Trying to find if he had any connection with someone, any family or friends, but he couldn't find anything. It was as if he just popped into existence, wouldn't that cause a problem, or was it some kind of magic the goddess had…only time will tell.
So Kree-Lar, was a place unlike any other Senoj has ever visited in his life. It is a enormous futuristic city that people could only dream off, having just the right amount of buildings, with a few scenes of nature. With a population that easily reached the hundreds of millions.
It was built around a grand structure, that could be easily be observed before even anyone entered the city, surpassing in height even the tallest of skyscrapers, the Hall Of Judgement, where the Supreme Intelligence was housed. He even learned that there was a supposed cult around the artificial creation.
Closing the last book he had managed to skim through, Senoj felt his stomach growling, it was time for him to eat. Arranging back the books, he left the library and tried to find a place that closely reassembled a mini-market or a restaurant.
Walking through the bustling streets of this new world, he was fascinated by the different culture and creatures he encountered. He even saw those flying cars, a weird alien with tentacles for a beard and many more interesting sights.
One would wonder, that language must have been a problem, but it wasn't. He could fluently speak the Kree tongue, as well as his native one. Probably another boon Elaine had given him.
After walking for half and hour, he arrived at a place called, Galaxy Mini Market. And as the name implied it was just that, so he headed inside. He was greeted by the sight of what could be described as a Seven-Eleven of the future.
"Hello! How can I help you?" A female voice welcomed him and caught his attention. Most women he saw on the streets were good-looking and this one was no exemption.
A blue-skinned Kree woman, looked at him with her clear green eyes, as they stood at about the same eye-level, about 1,80 meters tall. She had short black hair, that reached just above her pointy ears and a smile on her well-proportioned face.
"Hey. I haven't had something to eat in a while, have any suggestions?" He asked her, as he approached the counter. By the way he did have some credits on him, around 2000, he wasn't sure if that was a lot or not.
"Of course! How about a Spicy-Pop and a pre-made meal?" She suggested, her eyes still glued on his face, as she curiously looked at his unique looking ones.
"Weird eyes, huh?" Senoj asked her, in a humorous tone. Having being found staring, the young woman slightly blushed.
"No! I mean, not weird…I have never seen eyes like that before. Unique would be a better description." Not wanting to offend Senoj, she explained, which in return made him chuckle.
"Haha! Thanks for the compliment, i can say the same for yours. Name is Senoj by the way." He introduced himself and complimented her back, more out of courtesy. Not expecting this, the alien woman's blush became a little more apparent.
"Nice to meet you Senoj! I am called Sy-Lia." Her exited voice reached his ears, as the young woman name Sy-Lia replied. It seemed that she was quite happy that she had made a new acquaintance.
After exchanging some small talk, Senoj grabbed his launch and paid a whole 100 credits, so it turned out that his money wasn't that much. He asked her if there was a hotel nearby and she gave him directions. Thanking her, he left but not before Sy-Lia stopped him.
"W-Would you like to exchange numbers?" Senoj inwardly raised an eyebrow at this, all he did was casual talk and she was asking for his number. Sadly for her he didn't have a phone…or whatever they had on Hala.
"I lost my communicator…sorry, Sy-Lia." He apologized and left, leaving a dejected woman behind him. There was a reason for her advances on him, to be explained at a later time.
He picked a park, along his way to the hotel, to eat his lunch. Sitting on an empty bench, he relaxed his body and took in the scenery, drinking his Spicy-Pop that turned out to be a delicious beverage.
"What do I do from here?" Senoj wondered to himself. Elaine had told him to grow stronger and a sure way of doing this would be to join the Kree military. But he didn't want to get himself involved with this dictatorship, that conquered planets just for fun.
Still he didn't have many options to pick from, his budget being non-existent, along with his limited knowledge of this part of the universe. All he knew about the Kree was that Captain Marvel was part of them, at least before he read all those books in the library.
"Back to the military it is then…Huff…" He sighed at the thought of returning to his old ways, as he used to be a mercenary and it was the job that had left his body in tatters, at his previous life.
Finish up his filling choice of food, he made a mental note to return to that Mini-Market in the future. He stood up and headed for the hotel, which was just a few blocks away from him.
Arriving at the front entrance, he read the name, Hope Hotel…an interesting name, that send a fluttering feeling through his heart and it reminded him what he needed the most right now. Hope…that eventually he could achieve a level of power high enough to return back to his own world…and be reunited with the person he cared most, his sole sister.
"Hope…" He muttered to himself and went inside, a small smile hanging from his face. The first day of his new life had come to an end and only fate could tell what awaited for him in the future.
