Polly Sutton and Victor Parker went to see Jonathan Jones the next day. Jonathan was relieved to see Victor was fine; he was worried Victor might have acted rashly last night.
Grace Yates stayed watching over him all night and was just heading back to rest.
Polly offered him some chicken soup, and Jonathan found the scene very familiar. His gaze at Victor was pleading; he really didn't want to drink this chicken soup.
"What kind of look is that? I bought it at the hospital entrance."
Jonathan relaxed at these words, relieved indeed.
Polly chuckled, "This injury isn't without benefits, huh? Grace spent the entire night with you?"
Jonathan carefully managed the soup with one hand, taking a sip only after confirming there were no issues.
"Who was the person that was killed in the crash?"
Victor pulled a chair for Polly and then pulled another for himself.
Jonathan's wandering gaze showed he had learned something; being good to your wife is reflected in every detail.
