Previously, Jake hadn't felt the need to rush so much. Since the second wave was already making a headway from the south, he could take his time to farm evil points at every city and town.
After all, this was one of the main reasons why Jake launched this conquest. To be honest, he could've infiltrated the palace himself and tried to control the royalty.
