In other words, it was not about whether their beliefs were compatible with reality. It was all about how they contextualized the world around them in their Martial Path.

Of course not. Like always, the necessity of prior Realms to reach higher Realms was always there. It was why one would not achieve the Martial Soul even with the Enlightenment of Self without the Martial Mind.
