The children had originally agreed not to cry in front of Charlotte.
But now, they couldn't control the situation.
The presence of the children stirred sadness in Charlotte's heart even more. She looked at Grace, whose eyes were red, and despite her weakness, she braced herself to hold her in her arms.
"Mommy, you need to take care of your health... We'll all be here with you, don't be sad... don't be sad anymore..."
Grace nestled her cheek against Charlotte's neck, sobbing intermittently.
She already had a heart condition, and now with her crying, she was getting short of breath, and her voice weakened.
Noticing the change in Grace's emotions, Charlotte quickly patted her back and wiped the tears from her face.
"Grace, don't cry. Mommy's not sad having you all here, just stay with mommy."
However, Charlotte's words only made Grace's expression more sorrowful. She even lowered her head, her little hands tightly twisting in front of her.
