Jonathan covered his mouth with his fist, coughed forcefully to alleviate the awkwardness on his face, then turned to Justin Battleson and said:
"If I ever find out that you dare to bully my sister or do something that wrongs her, I'll never let you get away with it."
"I will never do such a thing."
Justin's voice showed no ripple, yet his gaze was profoundly steadfast, fixated directly on Charlotte's face, with no hint of wavering.
This made Charlotte involuntarily purse her lips and reach out to hook Justin's fingers.
"Easier said than done." Jonathan snorted lightly toward Justin.
"Oh, come on, Seventh Brother, there's really nothing going on. Sorry you had to come all the way here."
Charlotte quickly mediated between Jonathan and Justin upon sensing the tension between them.
