Before Charlotte Thompson could say anything, the man's gaze had already fallen on the box in the sales assistant's hand, and he unceremoniously took out the tie.

The man's somewhat frivolous words left Charlotte feeling inexplicably uncomfortable, causing her to frown slightly.
