Chapter 4 - Chapter 4 What a Stupid Donkey

Lu Jing nodded, and Pei San continued with a smile:

"Nanxi City was pretty good, if Jing went over there, we could all be relieved. After all, our Lao Si was over there, if there's anything, just find him, don't be too formal!

Isn't that right, Lao Si?"

What???

Lu Jing couldn't believe his ears; for a moment, his eyes were wide open.

Him, him, him... how was Jiang Ye in Nanxi City?

Wasn't he in X Province?

The sudden news left Lu Jing completely stunned, with only a roaring sound in his mind.

The man's dark eyes briefly flashed with brilliance, then he slowly spoke:

"Hmm, I was over there!"

While speaking, he deliberately glanced at the person opposite him.

Lu Jing felt his heart pound, and Old Five chimed in:

"Hey, Jing, weren't you and Brother Si at university in Nanxi City back in the day? You two never met?"

Really such a fool!

And Jiang Ye, how was he in Nanxi City?

Lu Jing couldn't remain calm, suddenly standing up:

"Second Brother, Third Brother, it's a bit stuffy here, I'm going out for a while."

"Go, go, if you need us, call us."

Lu Jing's figure seemed both urgent and embarrassed.

Pei San, being nearby, kicked Lao Si's leg beside him:

"What's going on?"

The man curled his lips:

"What could possibly be happening?" He retorted.

Pei San lowered his voice:

"You dare say there's nothing between you and Jing? Lao Si, if A Yan knows you bullied his sister, he'll break your leg!"

Jiang Ye felt his throat tighten, then tilted his head back to gulp down a sip of wine.

....

Lu Jing stayed outside for a few minutes, a child found her: "Aunt!"

"What's the matter?" She asked.

"Aunt, Dad's looking for you."

His cousin?

Lu Jing led her little nephew inside, and upon seeing her approach, Lu Yan handed her a glass of red wine:

"Come with me to meet a few uncles."

"Huh? Brother, do I really need to go?"

"What nonsense, hurry."

After socializing alongside Lu Yan, she completely lost any appetite for food.

Finally, they arrived at Jiang Ye's table.

"Brother Yan, congratulations, congratulations!"

"Thanks!"

A group familiar with each other wasn't as polite as outsiders would be.

Lu Jing poured the wine; when it came to Jiang Ye's turn, she was caught in a fierce internal conflict and hesitated.

The man lifted his eyelids with a calm expression, just looking straight ahead.

Lu Jing's lips moved, her eyes quivered several times, then she steeled herself to pour the wine.

After pouring, she hurriedly retreated two steps.

Jiang Ye raised his glass and offered congratulations to Lu Yan:

"Congratulations on your son."

Lu Jing felt momentarily chaotic as she heard Jiang Ye's congratulatory words for her cousin's newborn son.

Her lips moved as though she wanted to say something, but her voice seemed stuck in her throat.

As Jiang Ye drank that glass of wine, he gave Lu Jing a deep look.

Lu Jing's complexion turned pale, and her lips were bitten white.

"What's wrong?" Lu Yan asked.

"Nothing, brother, I'm going to the restroom."

Though slightly puzzled, Lu Yan didn't question further.

Restroom.

The faucet ran with a rush, ice-cold water hitting her face sharply as needles.

Until her face went numb from cold, she finally turned off the water.

She lifted her head to see a ghostly pale face in the mirror, her eyes puffy, appearing extremely disheveled.

After supporting herself on the sink for a while, she finally stood straight.

Smiling bitterly a few times, she turned, ready to leave.

Unexpectedly, as she stepped out, she was face to face with someone.
