Chapter 7 - 006 Farewell

Outside the caution line, next to the taxi.

Teacher Li Hong patiently waited for a long while, finally seeing her daughter and Du Yu walking out together.

Li Mengnan was holding a Little Fox, which was rather restless, always trying to squeeze through the gaps between hospital gown buttons, wanting to snuggle into the girl's arms?

In comparison, Du Yu looked more like an assistant, carrying a Black Wood Bow on his back and holding a Black Wood Sword in his hand.

"Teacher Li." Du Yu greeted her.

Li Hong looked at the two kids in front of her: "Why is there only one Demon Pet?"

"My Demon Pet is right here." Li Mengnan freed up a hand, rummaged in her pocket, and picked up a puppet doll.

Wind-type Demon Pet·Wind Witch Doll.

Its appearance was very similar to a sunny doll, made entirely of a peculiar kind of fabric. It had small eyes and a small mouth, seemingly stitched together, with a "Z"-shaped antenna on its head.

From afar, it looked like a badminton that had come to life...

As a Wind, Thunder, and Fire Three-Element Demon Tamer, Li Mengnan had many more choices than Du Yu.

Among the Demon Pets provided by the Ancient Pine Tower-Demon Spirit Academy, the Wind-type Demon Pet-Wind Witch Doll was the most precious and rare.

This non-egg-laying, viviparous Demon Beast is naturally formed in the universe. Humans cannot breed them, and can only acquire them from the Demon Spirit Realm.

Adhering to the principle of choosing only the most expensive rather than the best, Li Mengnan opted for the Wind Witch Doll and also selected the Wind Demon Soldier - Crow Wind Sword.

Unfortunately, the Wind Witch Doll was still too small to fly for now, so Li Mengnan had to tuck it into her pocket.

"Ah~ you little stinky fox!" Li Mengnan was flaunting the Wind Witch Doll when, caught off guard, the Little Fire Fox finally succeeded!

Its furry little head squeezed through the gaps between the buttons, seemingly wanting a close snuggle with the big sister.

She hurriedly reached out and grabbed; the Little Fire Fox was already inside, but its big tail was still outside, caught firmly by Li Mengnan!

"Whimper~" Dangling in mid-air, the Little Fire Fox blinked its golden-brown eyes, looking pitifully at Li Mengnan.

"You little thing, still trying to enchant me! Just as troublesome as your owner." Yet Li Mengnan's words were gentle, showing no sign of actual anger?

After speaking to the Little Fire Fox, Li Mengnan turned her head to glare viciously at Du Yu.

Du Yu: ???

When did I enchant you?

I truly am destined to be misunderstood!

Li Hong frowned slightly: "Has the Demon Spirit Academy arranged training courses for you?"

"Tomorrow morning at eight." Du Yu snapped back into focus and responded.

"Let's go home first." Li Hong opened the car door, "Return the Demon Pet to Du Yu."

"Okay." Li Mengnan reluctantly placed the Little Fire Fox into Du Yu's hands.

Li Hong: "Hold the Demon Soldier yourself, didn't you grow hands?"

Li Mengnan pouted and took the Crow Wind Sword: "Oh."

"Obedient Tough Guy"

Looking at this masterpiece, Du Yu was feeling very pleased! But then, once again, he received a vicious glare from Li Mengnan.

...

After the three returned home, Du Yu took a rest and began organizing his belongings.

He didn't have much stuff, and none of it was valuable. He mainly tidied up to restore the guest room in Teacher Li's house to its original state.

Just as Du Yu was clearing under the bed, Teacher Li Hong came in.

"What are you doing?" Li Hong stood at the door, looking slightly surprised.

Du Yu quickly stood up: "Teacher, thank you for taking care of me over the past year. Now that the entrance exam is over, I'll move my things back to the school dormitory."

Li Hong closed the door behind her and gestured to the bed: "Sit down first, teacher has something to discuss with you."

"Teacher, go ahead!" Du Yu quickly spoke, eager to repay her kindness, willing to do whatever was necessary as long as it wasn't illegal.

"Ah..." Li Hong sighed deeply, looking somewhat concerned, "Nannan has a strong desire to become a Demon Tamer, and now that she's awakened successfully, I don't want to hold her back."

Du Yu nodded. Anyone could see Li Mengnan's aspiration for a new life.

Li Hong: "You've lived together for a year, you understand her temperament well."

Du Yu softly replied: "Li Mengnan is very kind. I've bothered her for so long, yet she never expressed any desire to kick me out."

Li Hong shook her head with a smile: "In an ordinary school, people could tolerate her somewhat. But in the path of a Demon Tamer, danger and battles are inevitable.

Teacher is thinking, you're more mature and steady, could you keep an eye on her for me?"

Du Yu did not hesitate: "Okay."

"Teacher is just an ordinary person. Nannan wants to take another path. I can't be by her side, so I'll have to trouble you."

Li Hong showed a relieved smile, patting Du Yu's hand: "Don't pack your luggage, leave it here. Tomorrow morning, you and Nannan need to attend training. We'll discuss everything after the assessment."

Without further ado, Li Hong stood up and left.

Du Yu opened his mouth but ultimately said nothing. However, as he closed the door, he happened to hear Li Mengnan's loud shouts from the master bedroom:

"Wind Witch Doll, blow away this pile of math papers!"

Du Yu's expression was peculiar; he turned to look at the Little Fire Fox lazily basking in the sun on the windowsill.

From outright rejection to acceptance.

In just an hour, the Little Fire Fox acted out the life of a working adult...

Du Yu climbed onto the bed, took hold of the Little Fire Fox in his arms, and turned to lie on the small bed.
