Luna opened her eyes and found that she was in the woods. Confused, she sat up looking around at where she was and how she got there. She heard a snap from behind her and quickly turning around to see that nothing was there. Panicking slightly she stood up slowly. When she had fully straightened she heard another snap and a Crack from behind her now. Spinning around she found a deer as white as snow standing behind her, it's antlers long and full. Calming down, she looked at the deer as another deer from behind the first one, this one black though as the sky and it didn't have any antlers. Looking at the two she noticed their eyes, the white one red and the black ones blue. Suddenly both deer bowed their heads slightly to her and the white one walked towards her. Without thinking twice she reached her hand out to touch it. The deer gently placed his face against her hand and it felt soft to the touch and was warm. The black one also came and let her touch it. As soon as she had touched the black one both deer began to glow to the point where she had to shield her eyes from it. Covering her eyes until the light dimmed down to a soft glow she removed her hands to find that the deer had disappeared and had been replaced by a glowing green orb. She heard whispers coming from it almost exactly like the ones before in the herb room. They were singing a soft melody to her. Mesmerized by the song of the orb she reached out to touch it just as her fingers were about to graze it. It started to zip away. "Wait!" She cried as she chased after it. The orb went fastest the closer she got to it. "Wait! What are you? Where are you going?" She panted slightly as she ran after it. The orb not caring even slightly continued to zip away past trees and over bushes until she could barely see it. She kept running trying to catch up when she burst through the trees and vines hanging from them into a large field. She stopped staring at the found as glowing bugs flew around her and in the tall grass of the field. Taking a few steps forward she saw a slightly glowing tree in the middle of the clearing with orbs of all sorts of colors flying around it. It had glowing fruit dangling from its drooping branches. Its leaves slowly swaying with the breeze. It looked like a willow tree but it couldn't be. It was so big, it was taller than the trees in the forest. There was a pond or lake around the tree where the glowing orbs and bugs would skim across the surface. There was a path of rocks leading through the pond to the tree. As she started crossing the stones she saw things moving in the water in flashes of red and orange. As she got closer she could hear whispers coming from the tree, the same ones she heard earlier but different ones as well. They all sounded as if they were singing different melodies of their own but they all made it into one. Going closer to the tree she walked to it and found the green orb from earlier there along with several different other orbs and the deer from earlier were there as well as many other animals. Again the deer bowed their heads slightly as well as the other animals around. Confused by this she tilted her head and went to go towards the animals but the whispering songs from the tree got quiet, making her forget the animals' weird behavior, until all she could hear was the green orbs in front of her. Looking at it, it looked as if it was beckoning her closer, it's song was all she could hear, she reached out again to touch the orb this time it stayed as she reached out. She reached out and as her fingers grazed it she opened her eyes to her bedroom ceiling. Sitting up confused by the dream and frustrated about it she looked around to see if it was there but it wasn't. She was in her room again and all she could hear was the sound of Russ's snores and the livestock's soft noises outside. She looked out of her window to see that the sun was not up yet in the sky but that it was dusk. She looked at the clock by her bed to see that she had woken an hour early from when it was time to get up and take care of all the chores around the house. Swinging her legs over the side of the bed she got up knowing she wasn't going to be able to go back to sleep and got everything she would need to get ready for the day. She went to the bathroom and got ready and came back to her room after she was done so she could use the extra hour to do her homework she hadn't done the night before. She pulled out her paper, ink and quill and opened her book to pg.164 to start Ms. Peter's work she gave her first and began to read about the creatures in it. As she read she noticed the pictures in the Book of the creatures. The witches' pictures were of women in weird looking robe dresses that had hoods to cover their faces and had potions in their hands or on their belts. Trolls had large noses and bug eyes with crooked teeth that stuck out from their bottom jaws. Were-people looked a bit mischievous and had fur of an animal covering their shoulders. Dwarves were small and had a crafty look in their eyes. Luna flipped the page to see a picture of Dryads. One was a woman with a cloak around her that flew and animals running towards something she was reaching towards and branches spread around her shooting out towards the thing in front of her. As looked at the picture she read the text next to it. Anoyher had its skin made of wood and another was made of leaves and flowers and sang. Dryads are one of the most dangerous creatures in the forest. They are one of the things that you must watch out for. They can command animals and plants to their will, other creatures of the forest show great respect for these creatures as they are what keeps us from them. They will show no mercy to any human. The dryad people are ruthless when it comes to trespassers in the forest. The dryads have four different types of species amongst themselves. One is a Diwata, also known as Encantada, a dryad that are benevolent or neutral and invoked ritually for positive crop growth, health, and fortune; they may also incur illness or misfortune if not given proper respect. One other is the nymph or nature spirit who lives in trees and takes the form of a beautiful young woman. The Epimelides (also known as the Maliades) are dryads that reside in fruit trees. They are tasked with protecting animals. Another special type of Dryad was the Hamadryad, a Dryad that not only live among the trees but is literally a part of the trees. The Dryads are typically guardian spirits. Some Dryads simply watch over the trees which they inhabit, but others, like the Epimelides protect animals. Dryads are always female, and, in some rare cases, they care for grove. The Dryads do have some mystical powers. The number of Dryads that exist could be infinite. They have something to hide they are protecting not only the forest but something else. If you see one hide and pray that they do not notice or sense you. Sitting back in her chair Luna thought about what she had just read. Dryads were something she never wanted to run into. It also said that goblins will follow them and will listen to their beck and call and are exceptionally loyal to them. As she flipped the page she saw a picture of some Fae people; they were all different. Some had wings, others had horns of an animal. But some didn't have either. She noticed that they all were elegant people with long hair and slightly pointed ears. She started to read about them as well. These people are cruel people. They will take your loved ones and kill them or torture them into madness before giving them back. They love messing with humans and making them suffer for their enjoyment. Fae people usually have a king among them who usually chooses a queen from his court. There are a few different types for example the fairies, pixies, sprites, and etc. They are often separated into different colonies or seasons, spring, summer, fall, winter. If seen, run and hide. Do not listen to their songs do not interact with them if seen cover your ears and run! Luna looked at all these entries and wondered how someone was able to get all this info on these creatures and see what they looked like. Just as she was going to keep reading she heard Russ bark at her. Turning around she realized she had been so engulfed in her homework and finishing her essay for Ms.Peter that she had lost track of time. Putting her quill and ink away she got up from her chair and stuck her papers and book in her school bag. "Alright Russ! Time to go get you and the others food right?" Russ barked at Luna again confirming her sentence. Following him she went to the kitchen and gave Russ his breakfast and went out the back door to grab the rotten food for the pigs and all the other animals food as well. As she went to all the animals Luna noticed that some of them were missing. Confused and a bit worried, she went inside to tell her parents that more had gone missing when she found the animals inside the house. "And what do you think you are doing here! Go on, get out, go back to your pin!" The animals gave her a look but went anyway to the pin they belonged in. Noticing the time, and that she was going to be late. Luna grabbed a piece of toast from the kitchen and her school bag from her room and headed for the door to go. "Bye Russ! Go take care of the animals outside and make sure they don't get out!" Russ barked in reply, went out the door and laid down by the pins. Luna went down through the shop and opened the door to go to school! "Bye Mom, Bye Dad! See you after school!" Without waiting for a reply Luna ran down the busy street that was already filled with people shopping. Luna was so focused about what happened last night and the dream as she ran she didn't even realize that she was at the school until she was in front of Ms. Peter's room. Blinking she looked around to see that the students were just filling into the building to their classrooms. Luna went to her chair and sat down confused and slightly dazed on how she had already gotten to school when it usually took 45 minutes to get to the school. The students started to go into the class and take their seats. Bria walked into the room along with twins not far behind. When the three of them saw her in her seat already they all gawked at her as they came to their seats. Feeling slightly embarrassed she grabbed out her papers and her books to get ready for class. "Luna." Luna turned slightly towards her friends."Yes?" She replied awkwardly. "You're early to class."Kyle said. "That is definitely something that you don't see everyday." Jordan stated matter of factly. "Also Luna have you looked at your eyes recently? Bria asked Luna while pulling a mirror out of her bag for Luna. "No, why?" Luna responded as she took the mirror. "Because your eyes are turning green." Luna stared at herself in the mirror. Her eyes had indeed started to turn green. "Don't worry I'm sure it's just the lighting of the room. My eyes always look like they are changing from brown to green." Jordan said "That's because your eyes are hazel Jordan!" Bria said in a huff. Jordan smiled at the comment and was about to open his mouth when Ms. Peter called out."Good Morning student. Nice to see you all on time this morning!" She gave Luna a glance as she said the last bit. "I hope that everyone was able to read pg. 164-170 and write their reports on it. I would like everyone to please pass them up to the front so that I may collect them." Ms. Peter said as she went to her desk to pull out the chalk for her board. The students passed their papers to the front and Ms. Peter went by and collected all of them. As Ms. Peter went on with the lesson Luna kept thinking about her eye's, the glow in the herb room and the dream she had. What did they mean? Why was this happening today of all days? Pushing those thoughts out of her head she tried to pay attention and take note of the things that Ms. Peter was teaching. After her third class of the day Luna went to the Library since she had a free period before her next class. There she found Jason rummaging through the books on the shelves. "Hey Jason!" She said Jason turned around making Luna gawk in shock at him. He had seemed to have gotten taller when Luna looked at him more. "Oh hey Luna!" He said cheerfully. She couldn't help but notice his voice also sounded a bit deeper and not as high pitched. "Jason, were you always this tall?" She asked, staring in disbelief at him. "Eh, not sure. I woke up and most of my clothes didn't fit me. My pants came up to my shins this morning." He replied, rubbing his chin. NoLuna was surprised by this response. "Also Luna did you know your eyes turned green? They almost look like emeralds." Jason said as he looked at her. Luna panicked slightly "Wait what?" Jason shrugged "could be the light playing tricks, you never know or maybe your eyes were always that color and I never noticed until now." Jason turned back to the books on the shelf and grabbed one from one of the top shelves. Luna tried to calm herself down and told herself not to worry about it; she would figure the whole eyes turning green later. "Were you able to find the book you were looking for yesterday?" Jason nodded "Yep! Turns out it was in the back collecting dust." Just then they heard a noise on the other side of the bookshelf of something falling. They both went around the side to see what happened but no one was there. There was just a book on the ground. "Huh that's funny." Jason said as he picked up the book. The title of the book said the white roses' history. "Huh wonder why this fell?" He said as he put the book back where it belonged. "Also, Luna, I was wondering if you would like to walk home together after school?" Luna smiled, "Sure." Jason, smiling back with a crooked smile said, "Cool! I'll see you after school then!" Just then the bell rang " Well I better get going to my next class! S9ee you later!" Luna said as she started walking away "Yeah see you also happy birthday Luna!" Luna smiled as she continued to class. The day seemed to go by much smoother than the day before. It was mainly a calm school day, nothing really exciting happened the rest of the day. She got a few Happy Birthdays here and there, no one commented on her eyes except a few teachers by the end of the day it seemed the green had died down and they had turned back to normal. After School Luna went to the front and waited for her friends and also for Jason to come so they could all walk home. Jason was the first to come out of the school with a big grin on his face when he saw her waiting for him. Soon the others came out of the building as well and they all started on their way home. "Oh your eyes are back to normal!" Bria exclaimed. "Guess it was a trick of the light." Everyone laughed. As they were walking down the street Luna could hear a faint melody playing in her ears like one one she had been hearing since the day before. As they continued to walk the melody got louder and louder. The others went to react to the sound and seemed to be oblivious to the sound. Eventually the melody just turned into a hum in Luna's ears. It was so loud she felt that her ears would start to bleed if the noise kept going on for much longer. Covering her ears she closed her eyes as the noise started to make her head hurt more. She could feel someone grabbing onto her arms and muffled sounds other than the hum in her ears. The noise made her head feel like it was going to Crack open at any moment. It was all she could hear. The noise was that of a woman's voice as if she was telling her something but couldn't use words. Luna felt like she was going to pass out from the noise. She could feel someone touching her face. Just as soon as the noise was there she heard a pop noise and everything came rushing back to normal. "Luna are you okay?!?" She heard Kyle say as she opened her eyes to find his face near hers and everyone else's worried faces around her. "Yeah. I'm okay. My ears just started to ring really bad so it made my head start to hurt, that's all." Luna said taking a deep breath in and rubbing her ears, as both Kyle and Jason gave her looks of concern, Bria mouthed at her I don't believe you and I'mgonna get it out of you later what happened. Luna gave her a look that said stop it. Everyone continued on there way home. But Luna could still hear a faint sound in the back like a woman whispering to her saying "It is time, you shall receive your gift."
