The moment the sky was torn apart, accompanied by the smell of gunpowder, it felt like all the world's sufferings were tilting toward her.

For Hannah, her whole life was adrift; the cruise ship that once sailed the sea shattered, leaving only a plank to keep her afloat.

Later, she could barely discern if this plank was salvation or shackle.

All she could do was strive to remain rational, to struggle not to lose herself amidst the chaos.

She was not an extremist; she believed in the existence of true love in the world and that light will ultimately cascade, but she just didn't believe it belonged to her.
