As the tension in the room thickened, I connected with Alaric through our mind link, both of us searching for a way to diffuse the standoff before it escalated further.

"This building isn't stable enough for them to stay here," I told him, a hint of frustration lacing my thoughts. "But they're terrified of going somewhere new. We need to find middle ground." Alaric's response was calm, but I could sense the weight of his concern.

"What if we set up something nearby? A temporary camp close enough that they're not uprooted, but far enough to keep them safe until we can properly reinforce this place?" The idea sparked immediate possibilities, and I felt a surge of hope.

"Yes. If we put them close, they'll feel connected to this facility while we repair it, and it gives us time to assess and help as needed. We can have some of our people monitor the area to keep them safe and show progress." Alaric nodded, catching my eye briefly, and then returned his focus to the crowd.
