Odin gasped as Hel's mere touch withered half his body in a single second.

He screamed in horror, swinging Gungnir and blasting Hel away with an explosive strike.
Maria caught her with tentacles of hair while Hel groaned, drenched in blood.
"T-That damn bastard! If he wasn't so huge, I could've ended him already!"
"You're incredibly strong, but you're too small and fragile, Hel!"
"I know… wait… Let me handle this, Maria!"
"…You mean?"
"What else?!"
"…Fine!"
Maria nodded. Hel smiled as her entire form dissolved into a swirling mass of spectral ghosts. They pierced Maria's body and began to possess her.
What Maria was allowing was something only Heroes and Saints blessed by their gods could normally achieve.
This was called "God Descent"!
However, Hel did not seize full control. Instead, she fused her powers with Maria's.
