Maria ignored his remarks and quickly regrouped with her family. Everyone celebrated their victory. Maria had gained many new "subordinates" and "undead friends."
The entire army had been subdued. Those who died became zombies and joined her forces, even against their will. At least she could guarantee their souls remained safe under her protection.
After all, even if their bodies perished, their souls would stay as her eternal companions. They could have damaged bodies repaired or become ghosts.
