Chapter 38 - Chapter Thirty-Eight

Recap: Ophelia was tired now, she had in fact given up on proving her innocence a little over two years ago. She just wanted to sleep and pass on but all she had these days were visions and dreams.

If it was a job, Ophelia would have asked when the day's shift would be over or if she could quit, if it was a gift, Ophelia could have returned it to the giver, if it was a curse, Ophelia could argue that she had lived long enough and must have served all her punishments by now but she had no name for her visions and dreams.

Ophelia no longer even knew whether it was day or night and though she knew that years had passed, she saw no ending to her suffering here. Some of those she had met in this part of the dungeons had either passed on and their rotting bodies taken out by guards or they had been taken out alive and never returned.
