Side Chapter: Festival With Farrah (III).
The heroine and the side character continue on their adventure in the first booth of the commoner section of the first year students. The same maid with cat ears calms down, holding a tray of piping hot omelettes. "Hello there customer~ did you order the maid service omelette rice moe moe kyun package?"
The omelette rice moe moe kyun package was the same old embarrassing package that the villainess failed to do, it was to repeat the maid's words as if casting a magic spell to make your food delicious.
Many students of the academy find this entertaining- that and the costumes of the students are certainly eye catching, pleasing to the eye.
"Yep we did!" (Analissa) has already tried this with Lady Evelyn but she wanted to do it again this time with Farrah.
"Well then dearest masters this belongs to your table then!" She brings the food over by the table, the omelette having a drawn face of a cat using ketchup. The maid poses her hands, acting like a cat.
"Alright! Nyah~ one, two, three say it with me!" She counts down her fingers shaping into a heart. "Become delicious! Moe, moe, kyun!"
Analissa shows her how it's done and now it is Farrah's turn.
"Become delicious! M-Moe, moe, kyun!" She does it perfectly and adorably earning a satisfied sigh from Analissa, she claps and praises her for doing a good job.
"Well done Farrah!"
The compliment rendered left her happy and flustered. "...hehe."
As the two delicately cut into the omelette, their knives sinking through the fluffy egg like butter, a rich, savory aroma wafted up. Warm butter, a hint of cheese, and the soft tang of tomato ketchup.
The golden outer layer, carefully folded into a perfect oval, parted to reveal a molten yolk that spilled out in a slow, velvety stream, glistening as it pooled onto the plate. Drawn on the surface in ketchup was an adorable cat face- round eyes, a tiny nose, and perky ears. Now slightly smudged from the cut, but still undeniably cute. The scent of the dish mingled with the sweet air of the café, filled with the faint perfume of pastries and soft background meowing from the speakers.
"Wow!" (Farrah) gasped, eyes sparkling like a child opening a gift, while a nearby maid in cat ears gave a playful, "Nyaa~! Do you like it, meowster? It's all thanks to your wonderful spell that made it delicious!"
"Thank you for the service." (Analissa) eyes Farrah who's pretty caramel eyes shined as she took a bite of the omelette.
"I'll get out of your hair nya~ I have more customers to tend to so just call me or any other free maids if you need a refill." She excuses herself moving into another table and taking their order.
"T-The service in this place is fast. We just ordered this a few minutes ago." She looks around no longer minding the stares from other people, now having good food in front of her.
Farrah takes a spoonful of fried rice and gives it to Losimer.
"F-For the bird."
Analissa smiles softly urging Losimer to go down off her head. "You can call him Losimer. He's actually my friend's contracted familiar, he's cute and a glutton so the next time he visits the restaurant I guess I'll trouble you to give him some treats."
"And for the reason why the service is rather fast. It's the last of their busy days, everyone is required to close their booths to watch the duel show tomorrow between each class representative so they're making the most of it. " In the game you could choose to represent the class in the duel match where certain love points could be added because many of the love interests will be watching your every move but-
'There's also a hidden event where if you skip that magic duel and explore more of the school's hidden rooms... you'll find a wand of light that's considered a legendary treasure in the lore's game.' Such elemental wands with the normal four elements; fire, water, air and earth can be found anywhere from a licensed wand market, academies and many more.
But for an element that's blessed several maidens once or twice a century for each kingdom...
A weapon like a wand of light is near impossible.
Back in her stream chat she remembers clearing that hardcore event using a code that you can get in a website. It was one of those hidden easter eggs, certainly it's a special item that could help them defeat many foes that's going to appear in the story.
Logical braincell drags a chalkboard to explain why wands are important.
'An example on wand systems, with wands anyone can use any element that they don't have an affinity to. Just like at that time in the second year's booth they were allowed to bring wands to demonstrate. But if you have the same affinity of a wand and if you continue using it, then your magic will level up, it will become easier to control, amplifies your element and uses less mana.'
And mana replenishment can be through eating food and drinking water though it takes a long time.
Anatomically the humans of this world have a mana vessel. Similar to a blood vessel, but instead of blood it carries mana and distributes them around the body.
If anyone would like to have their mana replenished the easy way it can be done through a mana transfer spell or drinking a mana potion! Though low grade mana potions are not recommended because they can have serious stomach ache problems if not brewed properly.
'The only problem is you must have proper control and master your element. If you use the wand without any prior experience... Just like what big Analissa did, she drilled a hole in one of the academy's trees... yikes.' She swiftly writes on the board of the concept of mana vessels. 'I can't believe most of the story lore is on the game's developer website instead of the actual game. This is why only second years are allowed to use the wand.'
'But because of the easter egg and heroine plot armor- Analissa Blanchet in the game managed to defeat the demon lord without any consequences!'
Honestly at this point even in the game the heroine should've used that weapon to straighten up the horrible love interests.
"...Miss Analissa, do you like those types of women?"
"Huh?"
The sudden question slapped Analissa back to reality, she hadn't touched her omelette deep in thought of her plans for the third day of the school festival. "You keep staring at them."
Even that caught Losimer's attention, two women is not enough is it?! Now she's going to bag one of the maids and forget his master now is she?!
"N-No! Was I staring? I'm sorry I was just deep in thought." (Analissa) assures her companion that she was definitely not staring at other women while they were eating. "I mean they're cute but um they're not my type."
Farrah took another bite before gathering the courage to ask. "W-What's your type then, Miss Analissa?"
"Tweet! Tweet!" (Losimer) stopped eating and asked the same thing. This information would surely make his master happy!
Analissa almost choked on her food, where is this conversation going?
"Really my type... I mean I don't think much of it so it's not that important-" She waves her hand freely not wanting to continue the conversation.
"O-Oh..."
That immediately made Farrah sad.
The heroine panics regretting her words and decides on a 'type' effectively. "D-Do you really want to know my type?"
"Y-Yes."
Analissa crosses her arms, furrowing her eyebrows. There's so many things she could say based on type- does she mean the type of woman that she would have as a friend or romantically?
"Um... just to be sure you're asking me what type of woman that I like physically or emotionally." She asks.
"B-Both?"
"Oh um... okay so both..." (Analissa) gave it a long thought, holding her chin.
Seeing Farrah's face she couldn't tell her the truth that she doesn't have time for finding people attractive nowadays and it's just finding ways to save the villainess from her impending doom.
That and trying to survive the academy day by day, keeping up with the others is a little hard.
"I guess if we're talking about types, they should be dependable, caring and understanding. One who would know when I'm feeling down..." She replies, thinking of it even deeply, in her past life there wasn't much romantic interest to talk to other than online ones. "The closest type that I like is the princess in the story of the play. She would often talk with the frog prince about things they like, she's caring and kind too."
"Physically... things like that don't matter much to me. As long as it's a person who's capable of respect and proper communication then I'm settled." It seemed like a good and satisfying answer.
"Tweet..." (Losime) thinks in terms of respect his master is good, but when it comes to proper communication for the person she likes, that's... she's doomed.
Her master threatened the blonde girl.
Her master stalked the blonde girl.
And she even bought her things that the blonde girl didn't even ask for.
"Tweet..."
"The princess..." (Farrah) felt jealousy bubbling inside of her chest. "I-I think she moved a little too fast to be in love with the frog prince. I'm not sure if they're a good match."
Losimer gasps, "...!"
Not a good match!
How dare she slander her master as if they're not a good match-!
"Understandable... that's what I first thought too. The prince and the princess didn't have that much in common, he's a frog that just wanted a kiss and she's an innocent princess who knew nothing about the world." The heroine agrees.
"...gasp?!"
Losimer rolled around the table dramatically panicking about his own master's situation. She's not going to be happy if she hears this!
"In the end I thought it was a lovely story. They get to know each other more through time, the frog forgets his original goal and then eventually falls in love. Perhaps more into the story I'd like to think that in another life where they exist they really took their time getting to know one another. I'm a bit of a romantic kind of gal so I didn't find this pace rushed. You see in my past life-" She almost slips but it's a good thing she bit her tongue.
"I-I mean back in my past life in my hometown! Hahaha! I used to read a lot of romance novels with royals breaking rules just to marry the one they love and I imagine I was the main character of the story." (Analissa) was sweating, wondering if Farrah noticed the slip up and had logical braincell cooking up excuses for any questions that might get asked.
Farrah says nothing and waits for the heroine to continue. "It might seem peculiar for some people, but there are many girls who dream of being swept away by someone from the nobility or royalty. Living a lavish and spoiled life being taken care of by someone- I like the story. It gives much thrill to my ever starving imagination."
Farrah looks down on her dress and her hands, "W-What if... it was a humble baker? Who would bake your favorite treats everyday..."
"And um... they'll offer everything that they can, for now it's their heart and calloused hands for baking cake." She was clearly talking about herself and Analissa got the jist of it.
"Oh! Though I rarely find books like that with such a love interest it would be lovely! Somehow that description is exactly like you, Farrah? Could it be that you're interested in finding someone?" (Analissa) was right on the money.
Farrah was indeed interested in someone.
And that someone was her.
"M-Maybe..." (Farrah) wanted to tell her that she should look in a mirror but... perhaps this is not the right time to confess and she should wait until to get to know each other more.
There is so much more she wants to know about the woman named, Analissa Blanchet.
"I hope you find them soon, after all if I was given baked treats everyday I would never refuse the prospects of courtship. I'll just watch my waist when I'm going to eat."
A baker can even... beat someone from nobility?
"O-One day! That baker will work hard to become worthy! They don't have much money but surely... Do you think that baker can have the person they like loving them back?!" (Farrah) seemed ecstatic.
Analissa chuckled, she looks slightly up and sees a leaf falling down to her hair. "Farrah?"
As Analissa called her name, Farrah came back to her senses and realized that must've been something out of character for her- all the yelling and weird questions if the person they like will ever love them back she thought it made her sound so desperate. "I... um... my apologies. I think I said too much."
Analissa shakes her head and points to her head. "You got a leaf over your hair."
"Wait, I'll get it for you," she said softly, her voice almost a whisper.
Farrah paused, eyes wide with curiosity.
She leans closer, her heart tapping a little faster with each inch. Her fingers reached up, careful and slow, brushing back a lock of hair as if it were the most fragile thing in the world. The leaf came free with barely a touch, but she didn't pull her hand away immediately.
"There," she murmured, her voice gentle but slightly breathless. "It looked like it didn't want to leave you."
Their eyes met- quiet, searching, too long to be casual. The space between them hummed with something unspoken, something brave and new. And for a moment, the leaf forgotten in her hand, the world narrowed to just the two of them: sunlight, breath, and the sweet ache of possibility.
"And if it was a baker who worked hard to gain my heart then yes, I would say that they have a chance if they're such an amazing baker like you, Farrah." She replies, throwing away the leaf as it flies away into the unknown. "Anyone would be lucky to have you."
Farrah's heart thumped with her words.
So... she has a chance!
"If you find me any love story novels about a baker and a princess that would be lovely. I haven't found that many materials and I know I'm supposed to study next week for the exams- so I'll have them read in my spare time." The heroine thought that Farrah was talking about a baker x princess kind of story setting and was happy to talk about romantic novels like this, "This is about novels right?"
"Tweet..."
Losimer says thank god she's dumb.
Farrah shakes her head. "I-I... it's not about the novel."
"It's not?" (Analissa) scratches her head looking a little confused.
"M-Maybe... um nevermind it's about the novels. If I find any I will make sure that I buy them for Miss Analissa."
Farrah gave up explaning and decided she will confess her feelings properly at another time.
"You don't need to buy them for me- I can pay them back or if you want we can go browsing in the city's bookstore. I haven't been there yet, though I really should." (Analissa) calmed down after settling in with the topic of books, she's a really good reader and enjoyed many novels back in her past life.
'It would really help me understand more of the world's lore and history. The ones provided by the game still have missing holes and pieces. It would be good for any written exams too, if someone asks me who was the ruling monarch of the year I would fail so bad...' She's definitely going to be cooked chat, that's why studying is essential for living.
It's a shame that she didn't get transmigrated with at least half of the heroine's memories.
"I-It can be... a friendly date if you'd like. We can go on a picnic afterwards and I'll ask grandma for a day off!" (Farrah) was already planning everything in her mind. Her grandpa and grandma will let her have a day off, she rarely asks for them after all!
"If your grandma doesn't mind-! I'm alright with it." (Analissa) could see how excited her friend was and was already thinking the days ahead are going to be one busy month. 'I guess I'm going to be busy for the months ahead. I have both Farrah and Lady Evelyn's invitations in mind... not to mention once I find that dumbass Lord Ein we're going to be training like there's no tomorrow.'
