"Miss Mercer, what accident did you have?"
Amelia suppressed her sigh and tentatively asked.
Upon hearing the question, Sarah's eyes flickered.
"I had a car accident a while ago, almost got disfigured, so my face is still in the recovery period. And my throat is inflamed, that's why it sounds like this."
"I see, fortunately, you're safe."
Amelia didn't doubt and asked again, "Was that child just now your daughter?"
"Yes."
"What about your husband?"
Amelia asked abruptly.
Only after asking did she realize her question was abrupt.
"Sorry, Miss Mercer, I didn't mean to pry into your privacy, just felt an immediate connection with you."
Her temperament was so much like Kiki's, that's why she instinctively wanted to chat with her.
"It's okay, just call me Brooke."
Sarah's heart softened, understanding Amelia's feeling.
Seeing an old friend, how could one not feel a sense of closeness?
