Some time has passed. Nothing of note has happened. The barrier was about to be breached a few times but it didn't happen. I am always alert. But this is getting boring.
My troops are just me and my family. Well, those who can fight at least. I am not gonna make Eden or Tiana fight.
I have a feeling that Tiana might be quite eager to fight. I can't let that happen.
Fay comes into the control room. Our base of operations is the Free World. I am sitting in the control room, monitoring the barrier and the outside conditions.
My construct is a multiverse of its own. I have only a few universes under my control. This is kinda amazing. I am the ruler of a multiverse and yet I need to conquer universes.
Maybe it's like that. You may have gotten the kingdom but not every province is loyal to you. I have to earn their loyalty either through trust or fear.
Hazel and Aura are with me in the control room. Fay brings four coffees.
"How is everything looking?" (Fay)
"Stable and boring. There were attempts at breaching the barrier but it was unsuccessful. The other party isn't serious about it either."
"This is looking more like a staged play than a war. Azathoth understands this as well. From what I have gathered, he is not a fool." (Aura)
"He just wanted to rally some troops. Even if it's a staged war, battles are happening. Creators are busy. It's the perfect distraction to get some job done. Maybe Constant himself will make a move." (Hazel)
I sip at the coffee. Even after becoming a creator, I am no different than my previous self. It's funny. Creators are just former and glorified humans.
That's the hard truth. We were humans and I still cling to my humanity. Maybe this is why most creators just act human.
It's different from the imagined perfect and just gods. We are nothing but humans who have become gods.
Maybe this is what's driving Azathoth. Constant is a former human. And yet he managed to overthrow the tyrannical gods of the past.
How did everything proceed after that. A system without a commander is bound to fall. Did Constant create the current world order?
"Honey, calm down. You are thinking too far ahead and too deep into the matter." (Aura)
She squeezed my right hand gently to stop me from overthinking.
"Sorry, force of habit. But I guess Azathoth is just like me or maybe I am similar to him. We both crave knowledge and we have the means to pursue it. No matter how nonsensical or absurd it may sound, we can pursue it."
"Creators are beings who are believed to be the pinnacle. However, humans are generally fragile. So humans create an image of a god to rely on that imaginary force to feel better. Human mind sure is a wonder." (Fay)
Our talk was getting too philosophical so I decided to put a stop to it.
"Let's take a stroll. Staying cooped up is kinda making us all a bit too philosophical."
"I agree. Master, I miss my old form. How about we all play fetch?" (Hazel)
It caught me off guard. Fay and Aura have similar dumbfounded looks as well.
"I didn't think you can turn back to a dog. Why would you do that?"
"Even I miss my old form. I may have evolved to a dogkin but that doesn't mean I have forgotten my real form. How about it master? You never played fetch with me." (Hazel)
She is looking at me with those puppy eyes. I look at Aura and Fay.
"Why not honey? Maybe I will revert to a bear as well." (Aura)
I just agree to their conditions. I feel like even Fay might say something ridiculous.
We go outside. It is Samantha's castle but she is nowhere to be found. It has a big garden so we were going there. On our way, we met Strauss.
"Where did Samantha go?"
"I have no idea. In fact, I am looking for her myself." (Strauss)
"She isn't responding to my calls and I can't trace her. If you do find her, let me know. I have a question for her."
He left saying he will notify me as soon as he finds her.
In the garden I see Eden and Tiana. Doris and Amaryllis are tending to the flowers while both of them are making flower crowns.
"Amaryllis, where are Aera and Aegis?"
I feel like a bad person since they are my closest companions and I don't even know where they are.
"They went to Jupiter, master. Samantha just came here, grabbed them and vanished in thin air. The last thing I heard from them was that they were on Jupiter." (Amaryllis)
Samantha just grabbed them and went to Jupiter. What is she plotting now? Well, Gwen did go to visit Trevor.
(Gwen, do you copy?)
(Copy, what's the situation, commander?)
(Are you with Trevor?)
(Yeah. The king is panicking about the attack so I am here on his request.)
I haven't been to Jupiter in a while. I hadn't even thought of the consequences.
(Samantha is there as well, apparently. If you find her, tell her that we are looking for her.)
(Okay. I'll be back soon. Maybe I will drop by to check on Clea.)
(How about we go together?)
(Nope.)
And she hung up. Looking after Clea has become sort of a competition. The rivalry is fierce between Aura and Gwen when it comes to Clea.
"Honey, we are going to Primis Societas." (Aura)
And she already knew.
"Why do we play with Hazel first? We all will go there together. Don't worry! Gwen will wait."
I try to calm her down. Her determination is actually a bit scary.
Hazel soon reverts back to her dog form. It's been years since I last saw her like this. If she was a wolf, she would be call werewolf. But dogs are loosely related to wolves.
Anyway, I have a yellow frisbee in my hand.
(Can you see the disk in my hand, Hazel?)
(Yes. Throw it master. I can not wait any longer.)
I throw the frisbee towards Aura. Me, Aura and Fay have formed a triangle around Hazel and we keep throwing the frisbee at each other.
The goal is to keep Hazel from getting it. That sounds mean but Hazel wants to chase it. We are just going along with her plans.
This caught Eden and Tiana's attention as well. So they joined in and it became 5 people playing with Hazel.
It's surprisingly fun. Hazel shows no signs of stopping. We all limited our powers to that of a normal human so it's a good exercise.
We played for about 2 hours. It's tiring to keep throwing disks like that.
Hazel returns to her normal form. She us drenched in sweat and collapses on me.
"It was fun, wasn't it, master?" (Hazel)
"Yeah. Let's rest and take a bath. We have to go and check on Clea as well."
It's good to take your mind off of a matter. It's peaceful. And Gwen did come back without going to see Clea on her own.
Samantha did come back with Aera and Aegis and for some reason, I was the one getting scolded.
I forget that time flows differently here. My disciples are already growing up while I am here so Gwen is regularly checking up on them.
Do I even get to call myself their master? I didn't even teach them anything.
"Clive, self awareness is a good quality to have. However, do not become too self aware. That is just straight up arrogance." (Samantha)
I guess I have a lot more growing up to do. I decided to just visit my parents and visit. Let's take a break before going to check on Constant. As a side note, Fiona has become good friends with Samantha's mother. Is she most gregarious and friendly person?
Whatever that is, I plan to bridge the gap between the universes of my system. I want to nurture a truly multiversal civilization. It would be fun.
