Not only did the crew not believe this, even the director himself seemed a bit guilty when he said it, avoiding eye contact with those who couldn't swim.

The Art Department Head smiled faintly, "Anyway, I'll stick to you like glue, director. The moment you try to ditch us, we'll scream and draw the pirates over. None of you will get away."
Some crew members echoed, "Right, no one leaves! We'll call the pirates over to spot you!"
The director lowered his gaze.
