Of course, the Universe was constantly reinforcing the space and the void, making sure that the battle didn't have too strong of an effect on its surroundings.
This obviously wasn't the first battle between the Infinities. The Universe had seen quite a few, hell, it had experienced a full-blown war between all five Infinities back in the day.

Didn't wish to spend the resources it needed to spend to do that.
Not when there was another being that had been constantly devouring its resources all this while. Not that it had any choice. The battle had barely started and the amount of destruction made it clear that reinforcing was absolutely necessary.
