Slowly, very slowly, the fear drained out of her.

The fear left an empty space inside her chest, and into that space rushed something hotter, heavier, something… far crueler:

A want that made her thighs tremble against his knee.

He still did not move.
His arms stayed locked around her. His 'hardness' stayed pressed right there, pulsing gently with his heartbeat. His cold palms rested flat against the bare skin of her back, never sliding higher or lower.
And the silence… it stretched on and on…
Until it felt like her own heart was about to escape her chest.
Yes, that was how quickly her heart was beating, in this silence, that was the only thing she could hear, loud and… fast, unreasonably fast.
