There was only about an interval of a few months between battles. In that time, Lind repaired or replaced what he could. The mountain of resources, that many would take millennia to burn through, seemed to vanish!
Still, the effect was clear. The Fiends might be killing some of them but they paid in their very existence in droves to do it. The loss to them became enough that the attacks stopped completely.
It had been a campaign of almost 3 years before Lind ran out of resources. Their frenzied tactics had culled many of the Fiends but the Bastard did not stop. It meant the losses did not affect him or he simply was close enough that the loss was acceptable.
It was also possible the bridge was the ultimate solution that even Lind could not calculate. Either way, they seemed to reach the tipping point. The attacks stopped.
