After a little difficulty I manage to push and float my way over to the damage with all the grace and poise of a toddler learning to walk. I let the box float in the air as I use my hands to sift through it. I hadn't managed to find any spare material to patch it up with so I was planning on using a wall from somewhere on the ship but I would need something to cut it up. I find recognisable tools like wrenches and sci-fi tools I try one of these. Pressing a button made a blue burst of flame come out a nozzle on the top and I realised that this must be a cutting tool similar to a blow torch. I tried it on a wall leading to my bedroom trying to make a nice big window to leave for the real mc to discover. I look for insulated clothing in the bedroom and find large winter gloves, a neck scarf, a hooded bath robe and some swimming gloves. Looking at myself in the mirror I look like the least experienced welder ever so at least my clothing matched the person wearing it. I start cutting into the wall and instantly realise that there isn't all that much heat coming from it, meaning my flawless ensemble was worthless but I couldn't waste time getting out of it, and I also realise that cutting into a wall this thick was taking a while even though I had already turned the cutter up as much as I could. The cut wasn't exactly even either, my hand had never been the steadiest and with the added pressure of potential death and time it was making it very angular full of zig zags and curves. I realise half way through that if it floats into a wall it could damage the ship or itself so I rush to the kitchen and find the sharpest knife I can and use it to cut some bedding from the bed and taped it to the back of where I was cutting.
Finally after what felt like hundreds of hours (I feel like I had become less and less rational and focused with all the stress and pressure) the window is barely hanging on so I hold onto the light fixture on the roof and use it to throw my whole body into a kick and kick it out of place. I utilise a swimming motion to get myself closer to the opening I made and go straight through it and take it under my arm and float back with it. Now with all the ingredients it's time to follow the recipe. No recipe guess I'm just going to have to trust that everything on movies and TV is accurate and search for a tool that can weld. When I found it I knew it I had to remove the safety on the top and after pressing the button I understood why because the heat coming off it was enough to make me sweat. I tape the bedding on the panel to the wall holding it in place. I go back to the closet and grab the bucket and bring it back with me, unhooking the handle on the top I hold it up to a corner and tape part of it to keep it in place. I then use the welding torch on it to melt the metal in the corner to see if it works. Thankfully it does I'm guessing because the handle of the bucket is made of a metal that can be melted down. I try it on the top of the bucket and it starts to melt down so I begin cutting pieces off it to melt into the wall and panel. I finish all corners and use the knife to slash the tape and bedding off so I can do the rest of it.
The constant flashing red lights and occasional blaring alarm sounds stop and as I go to float backwards to examine my handiwork the gravity comes back online and I fall flat on my chest. Turning over and sitting to give myself a well deserved rest I start to wonder why I'm not back yet I completed the task the ship's fixed. Then I remember I still need to cut this thing out of the MCs arm to stop the long arc from coming to fruition. I go to the kitchen and find everything I'll need according to action movie scenes where they cut bullets out of themselves. I get vodka (to clean the wound I guess?), A lemon (to put in my mouth and bite into when the pain gets too bad I guess?) and the knife I used to cut the bedding and tape away which I sharpen. I drown the knife in vodka, roll up my sleeve, pour vodka on the cut which already hurts more than I would usually be able to handle, I put the lemon in my mouth and begin cutting into my hand to make the cut bigger and as soon as I do a little white insect thing jumps onto the knife. It makes a horrible chirping noise, repositions itself on the knife to look up at me and with one more chirp it looks like its about to take off. I just take out half the lemon in my mouth and smash it on the knife over and over and just to be sure I use the chute that flushes trash into space and put in the knife with the white demon on it and the lemon just to be sure.
Now that's taken care of I just spit the remainder of the lemon in my mouth into the sink and rush to the first aid kit on the wall. I use the welder at a really safe distance to burn the wound a little bit and then wrap a bandage around it and use the duct tape to make sure it doesn't come off. This stuff always seems so much easier when you read about it! But I'm still not back in the real world so I fix myself a sandwich, head to the bedroom to check out some intergalactic news, kick back and relax.
After finishing the food and checking out some sci-fi TV for an hour or two everything goes dark again like all the lights have gone completely out even the stars outside the window.
[REM event completed]
[Bonus challenge has been completed!]
I hear the blaring of an alarm and turn back over. I already fixed the problems on the ship I don't know why its doing that. Although I should check it out anyway, I open my eyes and find myself back in my bedroom and my phone alarm is telling me to wake up. I get up and instantly realise that my body feels heavier and more sluggish than the body of the MC. Well I can't hold that against myself I mean he's fictional I could never get in shape like that...
I spend the remainder of the morning checking out my system menus and get in the bus and continue checking them on the way to school.
I didn't gain any new skills and not one of my three stats was raised and I didn't gain a single level. But because of the bonus event I managed to gain a skill point! I think I should save this until I feel I really need a certain skill. Right then someone behind me started playing with the headphones that were on my head. Tapping on my shoulder and drawing on my neck in pen but I was powerless to do anything. I thought about using my skill point to put an end to all this but I had learned that I could only unlock the skill at the lowest possible level or unlock it at the level of the character but if I did that I couldn't raise it any more. At one skill point I couldn't even get a useful skill. So I had to feign ignorance throughout the whole bus ride and stepped off the bus feeling like ashamed, I mean I have this amazing system at my disposal but even with this literal blessing from the gods I was still completely powerless to do anything to save myself. The guys who had been bothering me and irritating me were walking behind me probably to use a pen on my white shirt to ruin it. So I rashly opened my skill menu and randomly used the first one and hoped it would save me.
['Written Word' skill used!]
[Skill level is (F) usage of skill will be impacted by this]
[Now beg the system to let you use its skill!]
"Please! I beg you I just want to go to class!"
['Apology' skill has been activated instead]
[Cancelling 'Written Word' skill]
This sneaky system is going to ruin my life!
